1. Timing is a funny thing. Some have said his timing is bad, but I like a bit of slop that gives a dynamic. The bad drummers I work with are more like the type who drop sticks and forget songs altogether. Wish I could work with a drummer this bad!
2. I don't mind my heroes getting old and dying. But 61 is no age. I'll tell it like it is, when I was young I didn't have any great role models in my family. Motorhead embodied all the role models wrapped up in one. Lemmy was the Dad I wanted, Eddie inspired a work ethic like a hard-work teacher who you only appreciate when you're older and Phil was the Acme-Placebo version of me, who always had the hair, the clothes and the chops. Far from turning me into a degenerate they inspired me to be the best I could be, not to be scared, but to jump in with both feet. I probably didn't take drugs because of Motorhead because there was work to be done. The quintessential loud, fast, dirty rock and roll band and so much more besides.
3. No! Gutted. Him, Lem and Eddie were everything I wanted to be. RIP Philthy
4.
I had a technical question, rather than a sales enquiry. Where better to go than the guy who designs them?
Yes, but I should imagine Bass Gear have a phone number direct to him with no waiting.
5.
And old and new rigs, side by side...
A Fusion 550! You don't see many of those about. How is it working out for you? Very smart TKS BTW
6. There's more on YT of this lad. He's younger than most the skids in my pants, but I reckon he's pretty good. http://youtu.be/hugfqkUzRvU
7. I've had a guilty pleasure about fancying one of these in red
8.
Neck Thru I presume Which it is I believe as it's an lx
D'oh!
9.
thats nice, not knowing much about spectors... is it an NT? tonepump preamp? hz humbuckers?
The Spector site says these are fitted with coil splitable EMG CS-TW's and the trim-pot Tone Pump. What do you mean by NT?
10. The paradox being you've got to someway have a personality disorder to get up in front of everyone and do your thing. At least as bassists we can in someway hide behind the bass or the music. As a singer all you can do is hide behind yourself, so you make a bigger one to cover better. However the nicest most famous person I met was Robert Plant
11.
Simmons is a detestable bellend. To be fair, PS never really did any bellend-ish stuff unless you think his whole schtick is unbearable. PC & AF got beset by severe alcohol & substance abuse & chaos ensued (I bet their families & loved ones pegged them as twats at various points) but again, no real public nonsense. Simmons is responsible for 99% of the bad image the band gets tarred with. Someone has to stick up for KISS, & that someone is me!
I'm not down on Kiss as such and Black Diamond is a favorite of mine, but the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. I take back what I said about Chris and Stan and denounce Chaim Witz as Lord Bell of Endia
12.
What about kiss? They have 2 twats( Simmons and Stanley )
Do you not think Pete Criss is a bit of a one too? I always thought he had the best voice out the lot of them. Ace seems like a nice guy. But it has to be said, you'd have to go a long way to find two monumentally bigger bell-ends than S&S.
13.
Did I mention it's a camo paint job? Not quite sure...
There's nothing wrong with different. I think the camo looks good. Fill your boots! I can't find it on a search tho, got a link so we can have a butchers?
14. I bet it's lovely, but you'd need to play it first. I'm wondering how these balance. Divey perhaps?
15. I was never keen on Bruce Dickinson and went off Iron Maiden after Di'Anno left. But, it turns out that Di'Anno was the bigger twat all along. Dickinson is a bit of a knob though, but at least I can listen to Number Of The Beast now.
16. .. And Owen sold that Harvest bag to me Great comms, well wrapped, speedy delivery. All as it should be
17. I don't understand these comments about loosing value. Most the original bits can be easily changed and if done properly, stored properly and returned properly then I don't see how the value could be affected. If you rout for a J pup then I can see how it will be.
18.
Saw identical incidents happen several times in Italy while I was still living there. Seriously dodgy safety measures. Horrible.
Or rather no safety measures at all.
19. The original story I heard this morning said it was from a pyrotechnic at the show, now it seems that it was a firework that ended up on stage.
