1. Very nice, congrats! What wood is it made from?
 2. Stuff uploaded onto YouTube and then played through my laptop speakers usually sounds pretty samey. Not like that in the shop though.
 3. I bought Mark's Jule Monique & Demeter Minnie rig. He's a thoroughly decent chap and highly recommended by me
 4.
Thanks. I'll add the following Neck Depth at the nut 21.5mm Neck Depth at the 12th Fret 24mm - Stephen
What is the weight?
 5.
In that case, I'll have my thermos flask back, thank you very much.
Never! It keeps things cool as well as hot, you know
 6.
You said?
Every box checked and nothing more needed here
 7.
Lots more to follow asap
Come on. Chop chop!
 8. Sell your fake Ric in the classifieds in your local rag. Like we did in the olden days.
 9. The Bass Doc left members out of pocket and with little explanation. Approach with caution.
 10.
Haha, not really, I have an awesome '71 P that is Rosewood, this is its antithesis Si
Sorry, did that one on the phone on the train. Should've had a and a Lovely bass, proper punky. What's with the pups? Never heard of them, are they the new black?
 11. After the Herts bash I bet you're wishing you bought Rosewood?
 12. So what you need to do is buy a Rosewood board and paint it Maple
 13. What a great day! Thanks to Mick, Chris and lozz My fave bits were Mick's shoes, Jack's Lull T5, Chris's coffee, getting my photo taken and after all this time finally discovering that MacDaddy does indeed own a bass (even if it's all wrong!) I got home last night and discovered that my D'Daddario prize actually contains two sets of strings! Thanks to BC's raffles I'm well on my way for not having to buy a set of rounds for three years! Thanks to Lozz'z demo it's finally been irrevocably, scientifically proven which is the best in the Maple / Rosewood stakes. I also like the fact that within all the BC Jaco's and Pino's, it's a pick playing Punka who steps up to the plate (erm, sorry, missed the other demo's ) Outstanding!
 14. I've got OCD about stuff like this and it would rile me. I've built up a goodly collection of packing materials by keeping the stuff that's been sent to me by other BC'ers, so I've had good service from fellow members. Although I did receive a bass in a hard case once that had a weird pong to it, although my brand new Spector case smells like baby-sick, so there you go. Anyway, as long as the kit is all working and that is the main thing, but yes, I can see how this would take the shine off.
 15.
Just out of interest, whereabouts? I lived in Shinfield for 20 years
Aldermaston Wharf
 16.
If you are involved in the running of an organisation worth £29k perhaps you should have a clue : http://companycheck....PARTNERSHIP-LLP
By your logic I should get the best Vodaphone signal in the universe, after all according to that site their net worth is £53,722,031,000. Added to that, I live 8 miles from their head office in Newbury, so you'd think the signal would be gold plated on top. However the reality is it couldn't be worse if they tried. It's worse than nothing at all, as half the time I'm on a promise that something might happen as I sit half way up a tree watching the little round thing go round and round. These companies are by enlarge run by human beings with their imperfections and electronic systems with theirs, regardless of worth. The proof of the pudding is the attitude from the owners and the speed and manner in which issues are fixed. While I'm on, National Grid's net worth is £6,648,000,000. I'm not even on mains gas...I'm only 8 miles from Reading! I have to buy Calor gas bottles. Their net worth is £77,000,000 and me bloody bottles are still empty!
 17. It's the power section that gives you the bounce and there is no substitute. If it's what you're after then buy an Ampeg SVT CL or Pro II. You only get one life,so live it. I gigged an SVT and it was great fun, yes it weighs a ton, but I did it. I'm through the other side now, but I wear the badge with pride. I play a vintage Burman 100 watter, which is plenty loud (loud as f*** TBH), so don't believe what anyone says about that amount of watts not being enough. I've also got a lighter weight valve pre and digital back end in-coming which will give me the best of both worlds. I highly rate GK stuff, and you may find yourself on a journey that ends up back where you started. When I gigged the Pro II I had a GKMB200 as back up and the rest of the band preferred the tone of that over the Ampeg. Maybe your GK stuff and the pedal is the answer? Check out Ashdown valve stuff that comes up on the forum, I think it's always keenly priced and have a hankering for a CTM100. If you want Ampeg without the weight then go for a PF800 and avoid the reliability issues of the PF500. I strongly recommend you to check out the new Orange OB1 500 while you're on too.
 18.
think so, outside the library. Nice guitar
He's been around for donkey's. Was always on Sauchiehall St. when I lived there in the early 90's.
 19.
Theres a busker on byres road who plays a very old beaten up shell pink and tort jaguar (or jazzmaster) looks stunning. I would
Is that Mr Plinky-Plonky? Always plays with a capo?
 20. A tone block is not being able to decide between active or passive or flats and rounds
 21.
Well now I'm looking for a Modulator Bass to complete the trio... one in 'natural' finish would be nice... I'm actually becoming very fond of the original finish on this Marathon, the mojo is good... there's something about totally authentic wear, isn't there..?
Yes. It's authentic, original and in totally mint condition!
 22.
This forum makes me laugh. So if I'd gone ahead with the refin and the electrics mod you'd have all said the equivalent of the current mrs discreet's 'that's nice, dear' and just let me get on with it??
If you'd re-finned it, it would've been a big 'faux-you' from me!
