1. Seeing as the mark is on the center line of the body, I wonder if it's been caused during the handling in the painting process? I believe they inserted dowels around that point and then cut them off.
 2. Must say, I'm really happy for you. Well done you!
 3. Well, I hear-by announce this thread closed. Although lots of pics and sound clips would be nice elsewhere
 4. Congratulations! I'm right in thinking you didn't buy the first one you saw in Bass Gear, but ordered a new build?
 5. They're two very different basses so it's not like you've got the same thing twice. Me, I'd keep the 55 as it's a unique style, but first I'd sit with a pen and paper and see if a plan can be worked to keep both.
 6. Basses without a rounded forearm cut. I tried with my Ric, but it wasn't happening. It was a real shame because the neck was perfect.
 7.
Here you go pal, I've still got a copy of the shop floor traveller FRET WIRE VINTAGE 2.375 IN R5. FINGERBOARD RADIUS 7.25" RADIUS 7.25 BACK SHAPE BASS 55 P-BASS SOFT "V" 30 NECK NUT WIDTH 1.700" 1.700 NECK THICKNESS AT 1ST FRET .925" NECK THICKNESS AT 12TH FRET .950" NECK BUTT WIDTH 2.500" 2.500
8. Sublime . Could you post some dims for the neck please, like width and thickness at the nut n' 12th?
 9.
But this LX TW is awesome cos it's mine! I gassed over a helium before too though - they look good.
Luvverly!
 10.
Frankly, I think a mere VBA might be a bit of an anti-climax. Perhaps Mr Bootsy666 might have a word with John Chambers and see if he'll build another one of his 1000w valve amps.
Ah, the Bilborough Startler!
 11.
They're the sort I like. Especially at breakfast time.
Is it gammon or bacon?
 12.
I kind of wish she was my morning crumpet.
I don't know. Looks a common sort to me
 13.
Just needs a hammers logo!!

And some pin striping and flatwounds
Then it's off to the Cart and Horses for a pint of fizzy
 14.
So are those peak hour times CamdenRob mentions accurate? Seems a bit restrictive.
At peak times there are an awful lot of people about. You may be able to get the bass through the stations, but the trains and tube get rammed and you physically might not be able to get the bass on. If I was to shave anything off CamdenRob's times I'd say avoid 7am-9.30am and 5pm-6.30pm
 15. I'd try to avoid peak morning and afternoon times, but you should be OK. Do you have some kind of trolley-skateboard type thing?
 16. The last pictures of this bass were posted on the 15th April 2014, so almost exactly a year later to the day here's the update! Not the most overwhelming, but at least things are moving. They show the arm cut he's put on and the first base-coat, which I thought would be white, but appears to be clear. Next a bit of flattening he says. He seems to be doing one coat a week.
 17.
Cool.....it's the sparkle i'm waiting to see
I had a change of heart from the red. It's going white now, but still with the gold flake
 18. John has said the dry build was spot on with no issues. He's put a fore-arm cut on the body the Doc was supposed to do, but at least the pencil marks were there! Last time I spoke to him he was prepping for painting.
 19. Someone else has turned up with a hat on. I'm taller with a red check shirt.
