1. Have you seen the Chowny semi in affiliates?
 2. Business card. Draw round the neck heel for the shape
 3. Forgot about Easter. Maybe after with your fancy camera?
 4. I've been lucky enough to get my hands on a pre-release Orange OB1. The plan is to do a review for the forum. The only thing is, is I'm a kind of plug in and play kind of guy and I don't have the tec for sound clips and visual recording. I do have a little digi camera that does vids, but the sound quality will be a bit bobbins. I've got nothing to mic a cab and I can't see a DI input on my laptop. If you start from the square that I'm clueless you'll be about there! So, any BC'ers in the vicinity of West London/Bucks/Berks with the kit, that would like to be involved with my little project? I'd like to produce something with moving pictures and a decent sound. Would be cool if we could record a cab to capture the sound of the back end. The head is coming on Tuesday, so maybe next weekend for larks? Cheers!
 5.
The late Mr Bill Schulz of Fender was widely respected as a nice guy. People say only the kindest things about Mr Chris Martin. Mr Paul Reed Smith is regarded as loopy but loveable, though possibly not so by Gibson CEO Mr Henry Juskiewicz. That said, Juskiewicz is the subject of negative comments on the lines of 'total c**t' so his opinion of Mr Smith may be discounted. Mr Jim Marshall was universally admired. Mr Hartley Peavey is loved as only a crusty but honest old curmudgeon may be. Mr Larry Hartke garners favourable reviews; encomiums are lifted to Mr Mark Gooday of Ashdown; many believe a statue should be erected to cuddly Dick Jennings of Vox; had not Mr Bob Behringer unexpectedly died mid-gig there is little doubt he would have won a prize for International Friendship. Colloquy has it that nice guys finish last and that the succesful businessman must naturally be a shark. This is a patent falsehood born of misapprehension and a faulty socialist educational system that prizes poverty above achievement. For confirmation, we may example Mr Leo Fender. Pernickety? Maybe. Would he have your back in a grisly bar room fight? Undoubtedly.
How about Hans Peter Wilfer?
 6.
I didn't know Noise Works was still about. I went in there years ago, next time I'm in Cov I'll have to take a stroll over there.
He does work for Bass Direct. I found out about John because he did some warranty work on my Spector. He did an A1 job and because of that I chose him to take over where the Doc had let me down. It was funny how the universe converged at that moment.. Just got the bass back from the Doc and found John at the same time without really looking.
 7. No pics just yet. I need to give John a shout and find out if there's any news
 8. My recently sold '80 4001 had the best neck ever (for me). It was slim, the right profile, width and I loved the way the width stays parallel up the neck. It also had an amazingly low action on the dead straight neck. The bit I couldn't get on with was the upper bout. I lean my forearm on the bout and it pushed my elbow out while the edge digs in my arm. All I can say is that I gave it a try, but the shape was not for me. The closest I've got to the neck is my NS2. The Spector neck is a bit fatter, but it has the perfect body shape. A Ric is a bass I may go back too, perhaps with the rounded body shape. I don't give a monkey's about John Hall. I should imagine most CEO's of these companies are 'orrible
 9.
Er, the mods are! You can't on the one hand say, "We couldn't possibly tell you why we banned someone" and on the other hand imply that they are lying with their side of the story, it just makes you look like a politician (sorry, that was the worst thing I could think of!).
Whether you think I'm being a politician or not, the truth is what is happening. Regardless of an individual mod's feeling, the rule is we don't openly discuss moderating decisions. Any banned member is free to post whatever they like on other social media. It may or may not be the truth, or it may be a version of the truth from one particular angle. I'm not implying that WPD is lying, but I am saying that you are not getting the whole of the story and its history from an unbiased source
 10.
However, if the mods had acted reasonably in banning a member, there would be no need to be so secretive about it. Some people might conclude that they have something to hide.
We're not being secretive. We have a rule that moderating decisions are only discussed with the member in question and the moderating team. This rule is for everybody and exceptions are not made. Many decisions are fairly hum-drum and most members would either not be bothered or welcome them. For example the banning of people trying to con members in the market place, We're often under attack from scammers and certain members of the mod team spend an awful lot of time and effort getting to the bottom of things while trying to maintain the marketplace as a safe and impartial environment, but that kind of stuff is not sexy and has not got the same attention the banning of WPD has. There is quite a rigid (IMHO) structure of warnings and no member would be banned without them either knowing why or having a long history leading up to the ban. While you may think the mods are being secretive, I'd say the banning of any member is only the business of the mods and the member, so maybe members are just being nosey? WPD is free to post whatever he likes on social media elsewhere, but again you are only getting one side of the story and then from his perspective. Who is to say whether he is telling the whole truth? To any member who is not happy with the direction of the forum (especially the ones in self imposed exile) I'd say get involved. It's the members who make the place and either you can sit around moaning about it or you could lead from the front and be one of the 'good' posters that we appear to be in need of.
 11. What year was the head built? I'm surprised to see you moving this on, thought you'd just bought the cab?
 12.
But hopefully you realize that the real point is that he suggested that Lennon has a greater right than others to criticize a brand (in his case Jesus). Whereas, I say people have an equal right to criticize.
That's not even a bass
 13. Lennon never played a Ric, it was Lemmy. Jeez, some people don't know nowt
 14.
Eight pages and no-one's mentioned Hitler yet??
Whilst the genealogy of the name Rickenbacker is German, it appears the company did not inherit the Teutonic race's engineering prowess. At present the jury is out on which was Adolph's preferred plank, however as him and his pals liked stealing stuff, I'd put him down as a Warwick man.
 15.
Ha!! I love it in this episode when he rocks out a groove and says 'My god, I'm amazing'
You're already one of the greatest bass players of all time
 16.
I don't think anybody's said "ad hominem" for a while, have they?
You can say ad hominem ad infinitum, but the truth is that some do and some don't
 17.
Well mine posted a pic of her arse a while back, so that must have used up a fair bit.
I hear she's got two

 20. Looks a great re-fin. Very nice and clean being knob-free, but is it not a bit impractical?
 21. Phil bought a cab from me. All as it should be. Recommended
