1.
After the amount of work he had to do on this sale, and the very tight timescales he had to do it in, I'd feel really bad about going back in a year and claiming "my free set-up"!
Well, with the price you paid, it must be factored in, so not exactly free? I wouldn't feel bad about anything, after all Kev is just there to service Wunjo customers, so fill your boots. In fact, if you don't take it back at least once a month for a tweak Kev might find himself out of a job. You didn't think of it that way round did you?
2.
their excellent guitar tech.
+1 on this chap (Kevin?) he's given the two new basses I've bought a great set up. You get two years unlimited set-ups on new basses, how's it work with vintage ones?
3. Congratulations, outstanding purchase Sir! I was only looking at this on the Wunjo site last night thinking what a great piece it is. Any change of some sound clips?
4.
... and are you still rating it above the Coronado?
Yes. The Darkstar pup packs a punch and the whole thing is easier on the shoulder. Mind you I really liked the cherry burst finish on the Coronado but both basses have excellent finishes. If the Coronado had the massive sound block reduced and TV Jones pups it would be killer.
5. Some news here. When I bought my Starfire it came in a gig bag. There should've been a hard case, but they were missing due to Fender pulling out of Guild distribution. I had a call from Tom at Wunjo today, Guild have a new distributor and I have a new hard case for my Starfire! How cool is that? What a great blinking shop Wunjo is!
6. Had some comms from John today. The bass is in good shape. He's doing a dry build of it before stripping it back to finish. Hopefully some pics soon
7. Just an update here. When I bought this it came in a gig bag, however it should've come in a hard case. There was a lack of cases due to Fender pulling out of distribution. Had a call from Wunjo today, Guild have a new distributor and I'm getting a brand spanker hard case!
8. Bump for a beautifully tuned cab with a very sweet tone. You can A/B this round my house with my new EAD , you'll hear just how good the PC is and how blinkin' light it is too!
9. BTW, as the amp has sat for a while at Guitar Aid in Putney, Greg has just given it another going over and all is reported to be well
10.
Not sure, this one is close: https://www.youtube....h?v=6e5hRLbCaCs
Lucky that Ashdown rig didn't blow up
11.
Pointless I'm afraid. All that matters is the current flow in a fault condition. The fault current path must be such that it activates any safety devices so disconnecting the supply. I've explained how to do this in a previous post in this thread. Frank.
So this would not earth the current then?
12. Could a chain or some such chain like thing not be hung from the underside of the chassis to the road to create a ground?
13. I recently sold my 4001, but not for quality and build issues. The bass was all round fantastic and easily the best one I ever played. I sold it because the shape was not for me and that would be the same for a Japanese version. When I was hunting for mine I played a few that were dogs, but this was because of poor maintenance not Ric issues. Some of the 4001's were awful and I think this is because owners did not know how to adjust the truss rods and they frequently broke.
14.
Take your pick.
But I need a shovel
15.
How about this then,. Nasty cheap chinese slave labour junk ! Behind the sofa yet ?
Is there any evidence for this? Say, especially with Fender. I ask because I had a Chinese built Fender Coronado and the build quality and finish were flawless.
16. I'm not fussed what he's like or what he has to say outside of the songs he writes and plays. Oasis's music was the background to some of the best times I've had in my life, and that is what it's all about. The rest is dust, wool and string.
17. Andy bought a hard case from me. All as it should be, no drama's
18. The bass is now with John at Noise Works. Hopefully we'll have things moving forward soon
19.
a mod could adjudicate and apply the Silly Bollocks Rule when necessary.
If anyone needs silly bollocks applied, then I'm your man.
20.
Moose and his predecessor Stuart Morrow, both inventive bassists. One thing about New Model Army is that they've always had great bass players!
I was lucky enough to do a bit of gear lugging for Stuart when he was in 'Loud'. He's a proper nice guy and an extremely talented player. He really leads from the front. A handful of BC'ers auditioned for NMA , me included!
