Here's one that sticks out for me. I'd finally got with a girl who I'd been friends with since around 13. We were 17 and it was the most magical time. Everything fitted together like a jigsaw puzzle, just walking on the outskirts of town hand in hand back to her house. We were together for 3 years. She went to Uni and ended up with someone else. When we broke up I truly cried as she was the first girl I'd ever loved. During the break-up I realized what a decent guy my Dad was, he was totally solid in everything while I fell apart. http://youtu.be/tuWZEhbe8x8
Tchaikovsky's 6th Symphony ("Pathetique"...). Brought tears to my ears, on occasions.
Was he playing it live at the time?
Those NS2000's are rightly well rated. Dunno about stick-on crowns though and yes he could have gone the whole hog and got a gold bridge.
Stickers. The dusty one is the wrong shape
Like thousands of others before him, he's got you all talking about him for right or wrong reasons.
Yes, yes. it is the Master and we are the fools not worthy to gather the crumbs from beneath it's table. You may think this is all us talking about it, but the truth is it's a mere blip between scratching my arse and going for a dump
Unfortunately, its not as simple as making one cab, as the only way to remotely get things to be cost effective is to make things in absolute minimum batches of 10 units per time So essentially I have to commit to making a batch of 10 just to sell 1, and its a massive financial undertaking of many thousands of pounds. Dave
What drivers are in them? I'm wondering what the button thing is on the cone of the mid?

What cab with a Matamp GT200 MK1??
Billy Apple replied to Jimelliottbassist's topic in Amps and Cabs
Did you need 2 x 212 cabs?
Nah, it was a mid-life crises thing where I wanted a big all valve rig. A single 212 is easily enough. -
What cab with a Matamp GT200 MK1??
Billy Apple replied to Jimelliottbassist's topic in Amps and Cabs
212 with ferrite drivers sounds cool. It needs to be carried up a stair case and I play in a 4 piece rock band most of the time. I'm popping up to see Jeff tomorrow.
Mine (2 of them!) were pretty heavy at 29Kg. If you had neo's this should help. The Matamp 212 is a good choice as it's compact and the amp sits nicely on it. -
What cab with a Matamp GT200 MK1??
Billy Apple replied to Jimelliottbassist's topic in Amps and Cabs
I'd probably recommend any Berg cab. When I had mine I had the Matamp 212 with Celestion ferrite drivers. When cranked it gave a nice Ampeg 810 thump but without the weight and need for volume. The Matamp 212 will vary with whatever driver you put in it, but they are a coloured cab. I tried mine with a Barefaced Gen 3 Super 12T which was entirely uncolored and it was like the amp had blown it nose, but a lack of thump. The Mk1 (to be honest, that's an over simplification as they are always in a state of development) is not hugely bass heavy (which was one of the reasons for the Mk2) so you might consider a low-tuned cab such as a large box/ported 115.. such as my Purple Chili 115 (link to sale in sig.. shameless plug!) which sounded great with the GT200. Without sounding obvious, you'd be better off trying out a few cabs and go with the sound you like. There is no 'right' cab, just the one that is right for your ears -
Nice to see the cab has new home and still looking good :-)
Dave, thanks for the post and thanks for building such a great cab. It's a pity events transpired to prevent the 212 gaining a foothold. You've never fancied building these as they come by order?

Just a quick update. I was having an issue with a buzzy E string. Turns out the slot in the nut was cut a bit low. The bass was collected back from me and sent to John Williams at Noise Works in Cov. A new nut was sent from Spector, fitted with a set up and new strings. All under warranty, plus a few emails from Stuart Spector giving his apologies. Can't say fairer than that.

Lady Bones is my barometer for all things celebrity. I asked her opinion on the KW-gate-type thing. She says KW's problem is he's shorter than all the women around him. So there you have it.
Here's my latest a Limited 55P Relic bought from Molan. Traded 5 basses, including a 2012 American Standard P and cash for it :-)
If this was the one in Bass Gear, I had a play on it. Proper lovely

I wonder if KK gives KW a hard time when they get home over his white-knighting of BK.. In my head it works better if they're all broad Geordie.. 'Hoo, Kanyey! D'yu ye fancee that Beeyonsay or wot like? Ar yu' tryin' t' seeay hur awse iz fatta than myne, like!' 'Nah, Luv, yur awse iz ded fat like an evry thing. It'z proppa lush an big an fat like' 'Eeh, ya lyin' Bastad ' *KK then smashes a bottle of Lambrini in Kanye's face* The End

Bought an EAD cab from Michael. Straight-up, no drama's and a lovely cup of tea

Beeyonsay gets my award for the 'Single Ladies' video, which I have no problem watching with the sound off, so maybe my award should go to the director and stylist. Come to think about it, I wish she'd get out the way of the other two. Beck gets my award for his Airline and Billy Bo Jupiter guitars. Oh, hang on, that's Jack White.
They are indeed top quality the best construction I have seen on any cab and the custom crossover really makes a huge difference to the range of sounds capable from the attenuators. And as you say hard to see the handles coming of. I will not be parting with mine.
Do you know why EAD ceased production?

Just picked this up today; All points to being an awesome cab. So far I'd describe is as tight, focused and articulate. I've not played around with the mid/treble levels, just set them at noon. You can hear the sound move across the speakers as you go from low to high and no horrible hiss from the tweeter. It's not super-light, but is no back breaker either. Extremely well put together, everything about it screams quality. I can see this working very well live and should imagine it cuts through across the full range. Can't see the handles breaking either!

Do you think for the rhythm/solo bit all he was doing was playing it harder and softer while the switch does nowt? -
