1.
Incredible value for money - only 4 Euro! Sounds luvverly, too. I remember for dinner parties (how 60s-tastic!) my mum used to do a whole salmon on a platter covered in something that resembled the gloss finish on that bass.
Arsepic jelly?
 2. I've got one with the change-o plug and never had any problems. Its grand because I can use it on either me DHA or MXR stuff
 3.
Yes it probably is!
I saw you!
 4.
Woo! Thanks for posting *GAS!!* Thing is, I've noticed that virtually NONE of the Spector YouTube vids ever feature that big Spector bottom end... why not?
Probably the mics
 5.
Thanks for clarifying, it's an easy mistake to make. Easy, like Sunday morning, one might even say...
You're only a week late, Ralph!
 6. I went in '87, the one and only time. Headlining was Elvis Costello and New Order who between them were so mind-numbingly dull that I would've been glad of Lionel RIchie. Mind you we had Stump, Gaye Bykers and The Soup Dragons so it wasn't all bad. I'd never go back though, just not bothered. Happiness is a clean toilet.
 7. Attack-full! Fixed for ya! http://youtu.be/7lHstX5wNkE
 8.
Yes, you do! Get Mark to make a replica of my (Rumple's) 1976 Precision, then sell it to me later!
You had the Limelight of the year and you let that one go too! Your lass put butter on your fingers or something?
 9.
Hmm, sales tax shouldn't be applied in the US on an export item. Not sure how that's happened but that is certainly wrong.
I don't mean new goods, but second hand goods from a private seller. They've paid sales tax when they've bought them and the difference is not taken off when they sell.
 10.
You mentioned that you'd tried one in a shop......was that the Gretsch or the EB3 I mentioned in my post?
Gretsch Elecromatic as I recall
 11.
Apart from having to pay VAT and Duty (the Duty being the only additional charge to a UK shop), what is the problem you refer to? I'll explain if there's something else.
Because you are paying VAT on something where sales tax has already been paid. It's not like the seller takes of the sales tax off in the purchase price. plus the duty on top of that and the [s]extortion[/s] fee from Parcel force for doing something on my behalf without asking and holding goods to ransom. It seems like these things are stacked on top to deliberately make things more expensive.
 12.
I should add that the VAT registered person claims back the VAT in box 4 of the same return so it's neutral, it costs nothing extra - no different from the treatment of buying in the UK.
So why's it such a bastard to buy things from the States? Answer that one!
 13. He's edited the sale mentioning the bridge and pup.
 14. I've had them on two basses and never found them anything less than superb. Never had any change in tone or feel, just less weight. I was wondering if your E string kind of got upset by being changed around?
 15. How are you getting on with the E string?
 16. I played one in a shop and found the neck dive horrendous. Everything else about it was great though. Although, come to think of it I can't remember if it was the short scale! Check out the Guild Starfire if you're wanting a SS semi. I've just got one and it's great Any-hoo, try the Gretsch before you buy and take a strap!
 17. Epic fail.. I suppose SD pups could come with cloth wiring? Here's my originals and the pole pieces are flush with the pup
 18. I've been messaging the seller and he has sent me a few photos. He honestly believes the bass is 100% original. I think he's been sold it that way and doesn't know any better. but the date is on the neck heel as it should be and the pots all look original to me. He sent me a pic of the underside of the pup, now here's a thing, the wiring on the pup is cloth. I thought it would be plastic for an SD? I cant tell if the pots have been re-soldered. My thought was it's an original pup with a SD cover? Here's the other thing, the date on the neck is 8/4/83, which is exactly the same date on my neck! Here's my neck-heel and pots and a before and after from when I cleaned my tuners Obviously the bridge is wrong, but that can be changed. Any thoughts on the pups?
 19.
This is now mine:)
Lets have some decent photos!
 20. Any one hazard a guess what gear he's playing?
