...no, I haven't pulled the trigger.
Well, you should. We'll all be longtime dead soon enough.

Snap! I've got them on my '83 JV. Got them from PLS too and no probs with ordering from them. I think they are outstanding bits of kit, exceptionally well made and a perfect fit. They're the second set I've had and well worth the money. Watch using the original screws tho, the Gotoh base plate is thicker than the original and the new screws are longer to compensate. Enjoy!

Just picked up a beautiful trans red Guild Starfire from Tom and Tom. Had a very pleasant time having a blather with staff and customers in what must be the most laid back shop in town. They gave me a great deal and once again I can't recommend Wunjo's enough. They had some very interesting stock in to, varied with some interesting pieces. The best bass shop in London.. Game over! Cheers Chaps!
Just the one pic for the moment - taken in the foyer just before the raffle. Unfortunately quite a few people had had to leave before we took it.
Who's that giant woman standing behind Lozz? -
The OP has asked a question as to the whereabouts of The Bass Doc. What is clear is that at this present moment his whereabouts on this forum are unknown. I'm not going to enter into speculation as to the reasons for his absence. However I think that at this present time it would seem to me that The Doc is not taking new commissions (although this could change). There is work going on behind the scenes to move things forward with members who have outstanding work. To the best of my knowledge all members who have sent items, or are waiting for items are involved in this conversation. If you are not involved, please contact me. The Doc may or may not be in a position to defend his situation, but with respect to his long standing excellent reputation I'm going to close this thread and I'd appreciate it if other similar threads were not started. Once we know, we'll know, then we'll all know.

The Sale of Goods and Services Act is your friend. I called up Trading Standards when an exhaust blew on my motor blew at 12 months and a week. The main dealer said as it was over 12 months there was nothing they could do. Trading Standards told me about reasonable use, and in their opinion an exhaust system from a main dealer should be good for 3 years. They told me exactly what to put in a letter to the dealer. I rang the dealer asking who I should address the letter to and in the same call they agreed to replace the blown pipe. Most recently I got all my money back from Paypal after a less than scrupulous seller tried to pass off goods not as described and keep a re-stocking fee. After finally getting to speak to a human at PP my mantra became The Sale of Goods and Services Act 1979. Bingo! Good luck!

I think if Wunjo's was not there no one here would give a toss about the place. I was down there on Sunday and just thought 'Meh'. The whole area is being developed and I think it is naive to think it will escape. I think Denmark St trades on past glories that are long gone, but the residents do little to bring that heritage forward in a way that is relevant to younger kids coming through. Times change and people move on. But I don't think any of this will stop basses being bought or music being made. The place always seems a bit empty when I go down
And I'd like to thank Ian, Steve, ChiMike and everyone else who helped out with the Solid state Vs Valve Amp Shoot out.. It was a bit of a blag to be honest, but we got there in the end - didn't we??
As much of a blag as it was, it was good to discover the core tones of a wide range of amps. I bet there's not a music shop in the country where you could hear such a varied bunch! -
It looks like the real thing, but serial numbers on neck plates can be faked. You need to get the neck off to find what's on the neck heel and pocket. Plus get pics of the pup and pots. The pots will have codes on that you can date the bass from
