1.
My main problem with Bareface has always been that they command premium prices but look like something knocked up in a shed.
I don't agree that they look knocked up in a shed, but they are utilitarian. But, is Barefaced about the looks or the sound and weight?
 2. This is currently at Guitar Aid in Putney. All serviced up and ready to go. I'll pick it up soon, but could be viewed there in the mean time
 3.
Voted for Vampire but Taranis was my close second choice so it's all good. FWIW, Vampire made me think of an early British jet fighter . Seeing as it'll be a bunch of blokes using the amp that's probably a good thing. I suppose you'd have named it the MJW Lilac Bouquet, ya big poncey metrosexual.
I'd have named it the MJW 200B Mk1. With lilac tolex.
 4.
^This - the day they move production of Harley-Davidson to China will be a day of national mourning.
The owner of an independent Harley garage I used to frequent told me that I'd be shocked if you knew just how much of your bike was made in the far East.
 5. You can tell a bunch of blokes thought of all those names.. All a bit corny.
 6. I don't suppose these have any kind of brake set up? I wouldn't fancy going fully loaded down a hill with one
 7.
Mmm, OK Paul - but I'm sticking my neck out a bit here... this is a very short clip from a (much longer!) jam that was recorded at rehearsal on a Zoom H1 in the room, so if you're expecting top production values I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed! However, you should get a rough idea of the SB-2... https://soundcloud.c...tus-anxiety-jam
Yes. Listening to this, it most definitely needs to be refinished in white.
 8. Not for me. Too rattley, widdley and clangey
 9.
http://basschat.co.u...47-fnaar-fnaar/
Careful now
 10.
IMO these thread do come across as a bunch of pervy old men going 'thwar' which I don't think is on on what should be a family forum.
I prefer the term Phwoor! from the Viz (Finbarr) Standard Lexicon.
 11.
I suspect the Pawnshop range was Mr Justin Norvell bringing some of his trademark 'wackiness'
Is he the 'chase me' fellow?

 13.
Making basses in China with the Fender Logo was to me the biggest mistake ever in devaluing the brand.
How come? My Chinese built Coronado is faultless. I think if you understand the location of build and the pricing structure you can find a bass that is a good fit. The beauty with the proliferation of the brand is if you can end up with a good far East bass at a very reasonable price. My Coronado purchase added value to my perception of the brand. I think poor USA builds are far more damaging to the brand.
 14. I took out a couple of antagonistic posts here. Just be warned, keep it civil.
 15. Is this active or passive?
 16.
Such a great amp, I loved my old non-pro version
Thanks Barrie. They are indeed something that everyone should own at least once in their career.
 17.
Still, no doubt I'll find out WHEN I REMOVE THE ORIGINAL PAINT PRIOR TO REFINISHING!! BWA-HAHAHA HA-HA-HAAAAHHH!! *Cough, cough*
YEAH BABY!!..
 18. Do you think this was originally black? Where it's been dinged I'm thinking Butterscotch?
 19.
Can't kill the mojo!
KILL IT! KILL IT WITH PAINT! MODERN PLASTIC PAINT!
 20.
Here's the build thread with photos of it as it was on Monday. Might give you inspiration. I'm going to see it tomorrow and work on the pre-amp settings; when I get back I'll put a poll up for the names.
Where?
 21.
I lost all my mp3 shiz when my PC went tits-up recently - anyone know how to quickly get an mp3 player embedded in a forum post? I don't want to use SoundCloud as they don't like it when you upload copyright material for some reason... I may have to go against all advice and refinish in vintage white!! Played the bass most of the day yesterday and I just don't like black basses!
Good man! Vintage white it is
 22. How come? Problems within or outside the band?
 23. I like the colour of your bass, and liked the bit in one of your songs where you say why can't Jeremy Clarkson just f*** off. Why cant he indeed.
