1.
Ahh... I was of course assuming that you would be driving. I wouldn't fancy carrying a valve amp on the bus for sure.
Amateur, ye like. Not proper hard like me +1 on Greg and Guitar Aids
2.
looks about as useful as tits on a kipper
Phwoor! Breakfast and sex.. Mmmm
3. For those interested these are the measurements of the neck profile from the Warmoth site... 43mm nut, 10" radius, 1/4" thick slab board, 6150 frets, vintage satin nitro finish, quarter sawn, graphite rods
4. I love the fret boards on these newer Rics
5. This TKS stuff seems to have its BC star on the rise. Anyone with any thoughts how they match up with the Barefaced belt-holder? Or is it still Berg and Van over these cottage industries?
6. Years back I was playing an exclusive gig in a house in Pollock Park Glasgow. This knob head was heckling all the way through so I unstrapped my Fender and walloped him with it.. and they threw US out! Unbelievable!
7. OK. Please can we keep on topic and keep this from getting personal. Please feel free to PM any member you have umbrage with, but lets keep this on track.
8.
I shall continue until they make a decent one, free forum and all that, thanks.
A decent one in what way Wayne? The Thunderbird is an acknowledged design classic. The finish and set up on mine was superb and the sound wonderful. My only regret with the TBird was selling it on. I understand that you just don't like them, as I just don't like Alembics, Status and Yamahas. etc etc etc, blah blah blah. I don't know why I started this, it's just pointless. I'm making ham toasties which is vastly more important.
9. Anyone know what he was using on the track?
10. Why is it beyond them to put chrome hardware and pup covers on these?
11. My missus is useless with measurements too, but I tell her it's 9 inches anyway.
12.
What is clever about the tort ?
It does this trick where it makes your money disappear
13.
how annoying is the two box lugging?
It's not so bad, as it breaks things down into more manageable lugging.
14.
what I was thinking - they are supposed to be awesome aren't they?
I know mine is! http://basschat.co.uk/topic/242845-nad-burman-mpa-sl-100/page__p__2526969__hl__burman__fromsearch__1#entry2526969
15. You need to buy this... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/245307-100w-burman-instrument-pre-amp-power-pak/page__p__2558697__hl__burman__fromsearch__1#entry2558697
16.
They are still being made (a cool £1700-odd at GAK http://www.gak.co.uk...man-head/56166/) Looks amazing and I bet it sounds superb. Afraid i couldn't cope with 65 pounds weight though
65! Pah! My SVT Pro II is 70, ya big softies!
17. Brilliant. 3 pictures of the front of the body
18. Outstanding! Congratulations on your purchase
19.
The Burmans doing it for you then? Bump for a great amp - I played through one of these at a festival last month - quite an exhilarating experience!
The Ampeg is a helluva thing, but I'm very happy with the Burman. That and an impending house move means I need to free up some cash.
20. Price Drop [s]£750 £725[/s] £700 I'm selling my USA built Ampeg SVT Pro II. It's currently with Greg at Guitar Aid, so will come with the peace of mind of a full service. Also included is the flight case. I'm in Slough so it can be tried out here, or even perhaps at Guitar Aid in Putney. I can deliver within reasonable (50 miles) distance and will courier at buyers expense.
21. I'm old and new things scare me.
22. I carried my newly purchased Burmans from Discreet's in SE London to mine in Slough. Well, not carried all the way, but between all the changes on the trains. By the time I got to Paddington my hands had turned to jelly and no matter how much my brain told them too, they refused to grip anymore. That and my arms were 3 inches longer. However, not one hurl was to be had.. and all worth it for that pure valve goodness
