1. Had a full set of made to measure leads and patches made up by Dave. From bass to amp I'm all Obbm. Highly recommended.
2.
I guess it's one of those moments of "destiny" first time in all my life that I've had something like this ever happen to me!

Now, fulfil your destiny and take your father's place at my side! Or something...
Yes. Give me the amp and take your place at his Fathers side.
3. The cross-over is just a bass boost, isn't it? Must read the instructions!
4. I've had a few more run outs with the rig, and I've decided the cab is not for me, so I'm selling it on. The cab is great in it's own right, but last week I played the head through my 115 and it had a real low end thump. I plugged the 610 in today at rehearsal and realized the sound is not for me.
5. SOLD, Up for sale is my Ampeg 610 HLF. In good condition, only a couple of small nicks in the tolex. c/w padded fitted cover. Would prefer pick up in Slough, but I can drive 75 miles one way to you. I'm after £500 ono More pics when I get round to it With its jacket on...
6. Mine flashes too, or rather pulsates. Does it not show the speed of the amplimodulation-doofer?
7. I've sold a few basses and guitars here, and got the price I wanted, but it took a while. I often wonder why people want to knock their price down if it doesn't shift in 3 days.
8. Speaking of second hand, up pops this sale.. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/231813-marshall-vba400-400w-valve-amplifier-head-vbc810-8x10-cabinet-for-sale/page__pid__2392128#entry2392128 Now, the Marshall VBA 400 does not seem to get much love here. I must admit to knowing nothing about them, but this does seem exceptional VFM
9. Another tone monster I got to play at the bash. Can't remember, is the body chambered?
10. Sweet, Slade and T Rex. Plus '70's Top Of The Pops, and the TOTP records with tunes made famous by non-original artists
11. I've just heard this cab come into it's own, cranked up in rehearsal with the GK MB200. It's got a real kick to it that put a big smile on my face, and the band were all commenting on the sound. QED. I'm keeping it
12.
Is the anti-Nexus vibe about the cost of re-valving? Do you have first hand experience of it? Does it sound fab or rubbish? Is it handmade in the UK? I've no idea of the answers to those questions, just interested in some (reasonably) objective opinion without getting slapped down.
The amount of valves is a real issue to be factored in when looking at a valve head. Depending on your usage, you could be looking at changing them out every 1 to 3 years. Any-hoo, you keep asking what's it like, so I've done a quick google and found this on Laney's website.. http://www.youtube.c...d&v=4KkqJzbkELk I'll keep my gob shut on what I think, but I'd be interested to hear what others have to say. BTW, I very much doubt it's handmade in the UK, but I could be wrong.
13.
I'll remember that if I ever choose to sell it! Likely to be a long term keeper though, it's brilliant and for once my drummer actually noticed and complimented my new amp choice! Ashdown got this one dead right I think.
'Tis true I was counting my pennies when that thread was going, just had other things on the boil at the time. I'm glad your enjoying it
14.
Snip
I was dead jel when you acquired it. Looks proper lovely.
15. 8 KT88's may sound sexy, but I'd just be thinking about the £300 re-valve. I sometimes have sleepless nights about the 6 in my SVT.
16.
http://www.thomann.d...0.htm#bewertung Not a tiddler, per se but very high on my list. I think this is something that you could rag the ass off to get the power valves breaking up but without demolishing the building you're in. I know there are a couple of people with the CTM300 but who's got a CTM100?
I think Merton just bought Walbassist's http://basschat.co.uk/topic/225178-sold-ashdown-ctm100-xmas-sale-price-l750/page__p__2317157__hl__ashdown%20ctm%20100__fromsearch__1#entry2317157
17.
Clank!
Monster!
18. I'm still experimenting with a few pedals, and can't figure which point in the chain to have the DHA VT1 EQ Bass Drive. At the moment it's going tuner-comp-oct-chor-VT1. But if I put fuzz on with the DHA, will it make it a bit woolly with the chorus on, or should I fuzz then chorus? Waddya reckon?
19.
I've quite radically changed (and hopefully improved) the way I address the bass... (hello, bass).
Aye, you don't want your tone lost in the post
