1.
I like having a physical magazine to read as opposed to looking at everything on a screen... I only buy it to look at the pictures / read the gear reviews really anyway, I've little interest in the interviews. I remember bassist magazine though, I seem to remember it didn't last long. One issue had a CD with it with containing a great track by the flanagan ingham quartet and a super cheesy version of blues for alice on a clifton upright... it had a doug wimbish track on it too... although I remember it was crap.
I remember that CD, in fact I may still have it. It also had a demo of the bass for an Albert Lee song, as well as Walking on the Moon
2. The new Sleaford Mods album. Nothing like a bit of vitriol and nihilism on Monday afternoon :-)
3. Hi Pete, If everyone on the list turns up, it will definitely be tight for space. However, there are invariably no-shows for these things, so we can only really know on the day. My best advice would be to bring your gear, but if there is no room, leave it in the car. There may well be some leaving halfway through and freeing up space. If you're nervous about leaving stuff in your car, I'd just bring the bare minimum eg one bass Cheers
4. I've just completed my HiFi, choosing to go down the 'old but good and cheap from eBay' route. -Meridian 207 CDTransport/DAC/Preamp -Quad 306 power amp -Linn Kan speakers The Meridian comes with the superb old school massive metal remote. I'm loving this combination, all for less than £400
5.
Can't be aesthetics...they're bloody ugly!!
Says the man who likes gold hardware ;-) Beauty is in the eye of the beholder etc. :-)
6.
£600 for a kilowatt rig must be the bargain of the century! I bet you can't wait to gig it!
I think it's just the head
7. I once met a chap (pre-BC) to sell a pedal. We arranged to meet at London Bridge station, and his self-identifying description was 'bald head' After approaching several bald men, I found my chap, who had a Hawaiian shirt and an eye patch :-D
8. I had an odd one where the other person never revealed their real name throughout the correspondence, and our 'halfway' meet was at a truckers' carpark at night in the middle of nowhere. The other party said they didn't have a mobile phone, although they were somehow able to PM me from their car on arrival. The deal went fine, but as I said, odd.
9. Fender have brought out some heads based on the Genz stuff, but I don't know how loud they are. Another promising head is the Bugera Veyron. These appear to be very heavily influenced by the Streamliner, and there is no shortage of watts! No idea when they come to market, or price, although Bugera (Behringer) tend to be very competitively priced. http://www.dv247.com/guitars/bugera-bv1001t-veyron-t--207798
10. Which one do you have, the 600 or the 900?
11. Well, two weeks to go. I'm hoping to bring my '78P to show off its new Capri Orange nitro refin, so hope it will be done in time. Unfortunately, Alan (skelf) can't make it now. I'll definitely be harassing the AGC owners as I'm itching to try an EQ01 preamp. Also, I have my '69er and Crown power amp for sale, so can bring them along if anyone wants to check them out.
12.
Hi, Great cab. I am interested but live quite along way away. Do you ever travel down to London? Regards, Paul
Hi Paul, I do go to London occasionally on business, and was there last week with the band. Unfortunately no visits in the pipeline.
13. Paolo Nutini - Young, good looking, a talented songwriter and great singing voice. Git: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZswz64dFlw
14. I have very definite ideas of what funk means to me. A past band singer once suggested that we play Cissy Strut "funkier than the Meters", and when I questioned him, he meant faster! I got really irrationally angry and couldn't speak to him for about two weeks! Anyway, lots of great stuff, but one in particular grabbed me from the start, moved me, then made my arse cheeks clench so tight there was a slight tingling sensation That's what great funk should do. That's the one that got the vote.
15. Never mind Happy Jack, just think about your Happy Speakon once plugged into this superb cab :-)
16.
OK. you're an immature poser No idea what the song is though
:-P :-D

18.
Do Re Mi Fa Koff
Augmented Major Faux Pas scale
19.
Just a thought, I wonder if it was, for some reason, a non-standard cab? Did you ever send the dims of your cab and handle positions to Roqsolid? I have their covers on my Midget and Compact and they fit with uncanny accuracy (and have been indestructible). I wonder if your cab is slightly different to the standard dims they have for it?
I had a cover from them for the exact same cab, and it's fine! Very odd
