1. Looks like an Integra /IGB series
2. Pretty sure the TV combos are hybrid. I'd imagine 350 all-valve watts in a combo would be bad for the poor driver, not to mention your back.
3.
Was it something I said ? is there another thread somewhere or has this thread stalled?
Haha, maybe we just felt contented and complete now that you're coming :-) Really looking forward to it
4. Prestia actually played a Precision, and as our discreet friend above says, so did Jamerson. What else do you need :-)
5. Oh, and check out this Flashback that sold on BC a while back http://basschat.co.uk/topic/198521-warwick-fortress-flashback-l850-sold/
6. Obviously it's all subjective, and the are some gorgeous basses on this thread, as well as some I really don't like. Anyway, really good looking basses, especially in terms of finish? This Shuker:
7.
The Trace Twin Valve looks great on the Barefaced, real retro. Here is my Great British set up - Orange/Barefaced/ACG. The head is a bit too wide, maybe I need a '69er or a Vintage ;-) Anyone fancy a trade?
Cheers BRN. May I say that that is the nicest ACG I've seen, really lovely. You may find a '69er in the marketplace very soon ......
8. Superb job, that's coming from an experienced cabinet maker. I LOVE the idea of built-in input/output jacks and power. So neat.
9. Avoid Silverstone Covers, many horror stories
10. It was anecdotal information that I came across when researching the Genz heads. IIRC BC's Shep got that info straight from Genz. Isn't fundamental of a low B 31Hz? Of course, the vast majority of what you hear on a low B is the harmonics which are well above that. Proof of this is the fact that you can clearly hear your low B, but your cabs, the 411Pros, only go as low as 50Hz before rolling off very steeply. Even the Acme Low B, famous for it's super clear B, effectively starts at 31Hz, so I wouldn't worry about having a 30Hz cutoff. BTW, I understand that the HPF at is bypassed when the bass boost preset is engaged. All my research was on the Shuttle, so not sure on the Shuttlemax I'm afraid.
11. Can you connect the active sub to the PA? Then you should be sorted

13. Plenty of other ska lovers here on Basschat. Welcome :-)
14. Welcome to the forum Al. 48 years old and still rockin' - good man :-) I'm sure you'll find plenty of like minded enthusiasts on BC
15.
It gets my seal of approval! I use a '69er and a Matamp 2x12 live. I'm only putting about 240 into each cab though.
Haha, I reckon your 240 would give my 800 a run for their money :-D
16.
What's the difference between the Shuttle 9.0 and a Shuttlemax 9.2?
I looked into the difference between the 9.0 and 9.2 a while back, and this is what I found (a lot based on forum answers, so don't quote me on it): - improved EQ voicing - addition of 3DPM (something to do with power management which improves tone) - improved gain section, although I suspect that was just a better valve. - the High Pass Filter on the 9.0 was criticised as having it's cutoff frequency set too high. The 9.2 has a HPF set at 30Hz, making for a deeper tone. Also, the HPF is now bypassable when you engage the bass boost preset. I think that the Shuttlemax is the Shuttle with an added MOSFET channel
17.
Before sell any of it, you should use it at your next Jam Café gig.
Haha, that would vibrate a few fancy weissbiers off the tables
18. Well, the footprint is no bigger than a normal rig..... Don't worry, I'll just bring the smaller cab and Glock Head
19. ....but what fun it is to have it! Attached is a picture 6'4" of tone and terror. From the top: - Glockenklang Soul head, with preamp out into.. - Crown Xti 2000, with a channel going to each of.... - Barefaced Super Twin and.. - Barefaced '69er The Crown puts 800 watts into each cab. It's currently set up with a crossover so that the Super Twin handles everything below 90hz, and the '69er handles everything above 90Hz. The '69er has its own crossover, where the three left-hand drivers deal with the <1khz stuff, and the three right-hand drivers do the rest. I will never have an application for this monstrosity, so I'll play with it for a bit, then you can expect to see a power amp and possibly a cab on the market soon. Well, soonish ;-)
20. I was a bit concerned when I read this thread, as I had a Super Twin on the way, and had pre-bought a RoqSolid cover. Well, the cab came today, and the cover fits! The bottom sits nicely clear from the ground, and the Velcro arseflap is well positioned. The handle holes are a tad low, but not to any degree of inconvenience. BTW, mine came to £70 delivered, but that is the version with the extra padding and the arseflap. Sorry to the OP, not rubbing it in, just letting people know that they can do it right! Hope you get sorted soon :-)
21. In twenty years of playing, I've had the following: - Silver Marlin Sidewinder. It was eventually refinished in Hawaiian Shirt paint job, and is in pieces under a bed at my Dad's house. - 80's 2EQ Stingray (white, black plate, rosewood) - First proper bass, thanks student overdraft. Kept for four years, then traded for... - '78 Precision. Stripped when I bought it, eventually refinished in Capri Orange. I had it as my only bass for 12 years, then added.... - Wood and Tronics Ergon 5. My main player now.
22.
I love my TwinValve too and totally agree that they seem to have a lot of power considering the ~100w rating. The 7-Band Trace pre-amp is a classic and the pre shape you mention is +6dB at 50Hz and 2K6 and -6dB at 400Hz. I bet it's that lovely low-Q boost at 50Hz thats working the reggae sound!
Thanks for the info. I usually have the treble fully cut on my bass, so you're right, just the prominent 50Hz would explain the great reggae tone :-)
23. Sounds like a great gig BRX, glad the amp is ok :-)
