I do feel that if say you destroy to amps in one night there must be some form of user error, ie pushing the pre amp to hard etc
I'm pretty sure Pierre knows what he's doing when it comes to gear :-)

I know this is is not bass guitar, but I love the line. It has a great pulsing rhythm which compliments the vocals and has plenty of space. Two notes. http://youtu.be/eJVfPU87hws
Just for fun a few weeks ago I picked an arbitrary moment in time and counted the ads by brand in the first few pages of the For Sale section (you could tell I was bored) - these were the approx results: Fender /Squier 50 MM 22 Warwick 12 Ibanez 9 Lakland 7 Gibson/Epiphone 5 Westone 5 Spector 4 Aria 4 Esp 3 Fodera 3 Tanglewood 3 Yamaha 3 W&T 3 Sandberg 2 Ken smith 2 Farida 2 Overwater 2 G&L 2 Washburn 2 Tokai 2 Clover 2 Alleva coppolo 2 (Didn't count single ocurrences of any brand) Whether this kind of thing (with repeated measurements over time) may reflect only actual market shares or not, I don't know... But yes, Fender is overwhelmming...
Thanks for that, really interesting. Fenders are even more ubiquitous than I thought!
I've got a 2x12" cab which kicks out MUCH more bottom end than my 2x15"
What's your 2x12? I can't see it in your sig Edit. Just seen on another thread it's a S12

Thanks. So they will retain that shape no matter what gauge strings are on there? That's some pretty damned strong stuff!

I'm thinking Steinberger, Status etc. Are the necks manufactured with relief built in?
I have been using an AD200B for a few moths now, running it through an OCB 4x10. I love the amp, love the tone, love everything about it. Recently I have had a few problems, the amp has statred making strange crackling noise and I can't work out whats going on. I Know its not my guitar, pedals or leads. I always let the amp warm up for a few minutes and let it cool down when I'm finished using it. The noise comes and goes, but it is happening most when I've just turned it on. The amp is covered by warrenty but as I live in Ireland and the amp was bought from a mainland UK company its a pain in the arse sending it back if its something I could sort myself. Any advise would be very welcome. Thanks
Moths have very sensitive hearing, so chances are they will have noticed the crackle too. Are you able to try some new valves to eliminate the possibility of a duff valve?

My ideal cab is less than thirteen inches deep, so it will fit in a gap under the stairs. This is part of the reason I've gone barefaced!

A trip down memory lane - Biohazard -
I'm trying to send an amp to a BCer using Citilink via Interparcel, next day service. They failed to pick it up on Wednesday. This was rescheduled for today, and they failed to show up again. I've just had a message from the recipient saying that they have just delivered a shelving unit to him, apparently from me!!
Is that the western with Lovejoy in it? I can pick it up from you next time we are in Notts? We have family there and we will probably be up in March if you still have it then!
Yes, Ian mcShane is superb as brothel owner Al Swearengen. Sounds good. PM me when you know you'll be in town and we'll sort it out.
Hi Roland. What does this put out @ 8ohm's.Thanks Rich
Hi Rich, I'm actually having trouble finding that info! I THINK the answer is 175w Bear in mind though, that EBS are modest when it comes to the ratings for this amp. I know that the previous owner of this amp played through an 8ohm cab and had no volume issues in his band. You're relatively local. You're welcome to bring your cab and give it a try -
I'm not usually into dancehall stuff, but this one is particularly good. I love the space between instruments, that lovely picked guitar part, and the bassline, which compliments the vocal rhythm particularly well, yet gives plenty of space. Just the root and five. Lovely. http://youtu.be/eJVfPU87hws

It's all about the lyrics today: In the car: Half Man Half Biscuit's Saucy Haulage Ballads EP In the workshop: Sleaford Mods' Austerity Dogs album. -
I know that Thomann were selling off the Warwick pro series MiK Star basses for around that sort of money earlier in the year. This however, looks like the full on German model. I think you're right to be very cautious.

**NOW GONE** Apologies to the several other people who were interested :-( For sale only is my EBS HD350 amp, complete with 2u rack bag. I really like this amp; it's loud, clear and versatile, with a lovely tone. The 2u rack bag has been well worn, but does its job as intended in that it has kept the amp in really good condition. This can go down to 2 Ohms, so you could run two 4 ohm cabs if you wanted to deafen people. I've been running it through one 4 ohm cab, and it's plenty loud enough in my band. There is a reason that this amp is a firm favourite with many bass players (including Tal Wilkenfield and Marcus Miller) as it has such great definition, is so versatile, and is built like a tank. I'm lucky enough to have several great amps, but I've decided to sell a couple to fund a cab. Price is £350 posted anywhere to mainland UK, or £335 if you collect. If you're further afield, I can get a price for you. I live in Nottingham, near Junction 26 of the M1 and you're welcome to come and inspect/try/collect. My feedback here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/169000-roland-rock/
