1.
Strong rumours he'll be using my '73 Telecaster bass for the tour, too
That's pretty cool - did you sell it to him? I'm assuming he didn't steal it :-D
2. Looks superb, Pierre, look forward to reports on that pickup. I'm still enjoying your old W&T
3.
Cus she luk pretty init.
Haha, I need to use more smilies. I was attempting Caroline Aherne humour (0:55) http://youtu.be/Lj-9lSEBBm0
4. The best colour combination for a stingray IMO. Lovely
5. I couldn't watch the vid as it was removed by the copyright holder, but I checked out her version of Get Lucky. Plodding and uninspiring I'm afraid. I'm genuinely baffled how this girl in hot pants could get 300k hits.
6.
Day off today, so into the shed with Gary and Chuck!
Now there's a euphemism! :-D
7.
Cheers for that. Did he by any chance play on Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway's version of 'You've Got a Friend'? That's just lovely.
That was Chuck Rainey - no wonder it's lovely!
8. I love those basslines too. Here's some info from a Google search: Gary King The late New York studio vet (Bob James, Roberta Flack) played on the Jacksons album Destiny [Epic, 1978], including the hit “Blame It on the Boogie.” http://www.bassplayer.com/article/men-in-the-mirror-the-bassists-of-michael-jackson-how-alex-al-and-his-predecessors-pumped-up-the-king-of-pop/4769
9. Just watching Paul McCartney at Maida Vale. The chap who plays bass (when Paul is on piano or guitar duty) is on an Epi JC bass, and very fine it sounds too
10. Excellent, what an honourable man. Would I turn down a gig replacing Paul Chambers in Miles' band? Absolutely, to spare the musical train wreck, the extreme embarrassment and the hasty firing that would inevitably ensue.

Ironically, it's the receipt for postage of a Genz Benz Focus cab
12. That doesn't work for me. Sound cloud makes things pretty easy

14. Although I play my 5 the vast majority of the time, I couldn't bear to let my P go. Besides, when I'm older, fatter and greyer, I'll need it for the obligitary blues-rock pub band.
15. Sorry if I'm missing something, but how do they act as an identifier?
16. I think, and I can't believe I'm about to say this, that I'm increasingly fond of headless basses.
17. Hah - I thought those sandals were so cool at the time - obviously in a bit of a surf phase. My friend from the art college very kindly painted the bass for two bottles of wine
18. I'm back at my Dad's house and found some old pics under a bed. All a bit random. The bass is a modded Marlin Sidewinder with replacement fretless neck, Hawaiian shirt paintjob, Badass bridge and surfboad string retainer. I seem to have bleached hair. Somewhere in the background is my old late '80s 2EQ 'Ray. Oh yeah, Baby Spice is helping to hold the bass.
19. I once abandoned my old bass rig when moving to Ireland, and it ended up in a school music department. Sound City 120 and HH 4x12 cab. I think it's still there.
