1. Hmmmmmm, very tricky Fire and Water by Free And Exodus by Bob Marley and the Wailers I think these two players have especially influenced my sense of space
2. Why are the holes for the pup cover so wonky?
3.
....tasty fills
Bigheaded w***er ;-)
4. I didn't know that about the stretching, but it makes perfect sense. Thanks for the education :-) I had idly wondered why the heavier the gauge, the further back it tends to go. Now I know
5. Sounds exciting! John Woods co-owns the transformer/coil winder machine with John Chambers, who made a transformer for my amp. Looking forward to seeing what you have planned!
6.
My Aguilar TH350
Money no object, weight not an issue and size not an issue, and you reckon a Tonehammer 350?? I've never tried one, but maybe I should!
7. I liked my Marlin. It did me well for dozens of gigs and even some recording! Silver Sidewinder with p/h pickups
8. http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Fender-Bassman-TV-Fifteen-Bass-Valve-Amp-1-x-15/BKJ This ticks your boxes. Many say that they are good but heavy, but that's all relative, isn't it? :-)
9. Nice one Kev. That's karma in action because you're such a nice chap :-)
10. Does that mean he's Stan Laurel's grandson?
11. Here you go... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/197126-interesting-new-warwick-amp/page__p__1941808__hl__denon__fromsearch__1#entry1941808
12. The Congos. I'm really enjoying Lee Scratch Perry's production on the Heart of the Congos album http://youtube.com/watch?v=1JhTM0Lar3Q
13. Ha, yes, the one that used to be Fox's music
14.
They look good - is that a snadpaper like covering ? If so does it not rub the skin away ?
Not at all, in fact I find the grit to be too fine to be truly grippy.
15.
[s]In the nicest possible way (really!). You sound like an idiot. You probably aren't but you sound like it. All that stuff about mp3's and copyright..... good grief!! If you *are* an idiot... oh well, good luck I suppose.[/s] EDIT Ahh sh*t.... I should learn to read. This isn't somebody saying "what do you think of my ad" is it? Well, in that case, he's an idiot. :-D
:-D I was also reading it thinking that it was Fumps' ad, thinking 'I always thought Fumps seemed really nice, but it turns out he's a knob' Anyway, knob. One who needs to sort his punctuation out.
16. Please contact this shop with the answer.. I found myself in town without the kids for once, so decided to pop into a music shop. Fair enough they won't have high end stuff in stock because they'd never sell it, but surely a decent setup and getting the spec right on the label is not too much to ask? Between that and the hilarious 'reggae section' in a nearby discount CD shop (the only three artists featured were Bob Marley, Eddie Grant and Shaggy) it's not surprising that I do most of my shopping online!
17. Yeah, the's a thread where it got pretty slated! I think it looks fantastic, but have no need for two channels, or indeed solid state for that matter. Btw, you've written 100 in the title, a bit weedy maybe? ;-)
18. Ok, I'll be the first to make a fool of myself :-D 1 was my favourite, smooth with a full bottom. 2 I found a bit harsh on top and slightly lacking on bottom 3 felt more 'modern' with tight bottom and clear top. Now for the tricky bit..... 1 - the Maya 2 - the Bitsa 3 - the US P
19. My first combo, which was a Cougar 1x15, but then it was cheap as chips. After that, some Electric Blue head at a rehearsal studio - horrible! Oh, and my old SWR Basic Black. Couldn't get a sound I liked out of it
20. I got to the stage last summer (when i only had a four string) where I was writing basslines for my new band, and it soon became evident that a low B string would make life easier. So far, I've never felt that the lack of a high C string has been holding me back. I can see situations where it would be beneficial, but they just don't apply to me at the moment.
21. I tried voting 'happy with bass' but it came up with an error message. Btw, I don't get why 'reggae' is in there - surely this is a type of music, rather than a channel through which the music is created?
22. Sly Dunbar, although I'd have some pretty big shoes to fill!
23. I've seen a few, and can think of one or two who have seen me. Possibly more, like it says above, you never can tell who's lurking in the crowd! Edit: in answer to your question, yes I look at that forum, and post my own gigs on my thread there
24. An Ibanez SR which was hanging around a recording studio. Horrible to play. I can sincerely say that I would rather play my old Marlin Sidewinder.
