1. The fantastic Grizzly Bear. Great video too.. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x28ep5_grizzly-bear-the-knife_music
2. It's like a retro electronics nut has built his own version of of a Musicman Big Al That's a good thing btw
3.
I'm sure you mistyped?
Thankfully, I don't have to do my KT88s anally. Thinking about it, it's been at least five years! Of course now I'm worried that one will pack up at tonights's gig.
4.
To save everyone else from googling him, he's the bassist in the Foo Fighters.
Thanks for that! A relic'd red/rosewood Mexican P with a Badass. I wonder how much it will cost.
5.
I have no idea what that means...
That surprises me BRX, it reads just like a Facebook update from Dick Venom :-) Good idea for a blog too.
6. Great news. They obviously appreciate you as both a player and a person. I wonder if the bass player mate is on BC ....
7.
Just ask for a brick to be inserted during the build!
To help bash the verbal abusers?
8. It's so wrong it's kind of right! It would be Interesting to hear what it sounds like. I suspect neck dive may be an issue. And verbal abuse at gigs.
9. Great news. Hope it goes smoothly
10. If you like it eclectic, this is your gig. There's us (ska/reggae), The Distillery Blues Band, and Royston Duxford (countryish Rock n Roll) Should be good fun. The Golden Fleece, Nottingham
11.
:-). Like I say - irrational
Edit: I've never actually thought of that quote in terms of gear, just music. When it comes to gear, looks are a massive part for me, so I suppose I'm a hypocrite. Thanks for ruining my day Discreet :-)
12.
But what about the Ellington quote in your sig?
:-). Like I say - irrational
13. Sometimes people just become naturally biased against certain brands without any proper reason. I think it's often based on looks. For example, I wouldn't go for Hartke or GK, Im sure they're great, but some irrational part of me has decided that they are not for me.
14. It also reminds me of the GB Rumour with its posterior contours.
15. Welcome to Basschat Sam
16. Welcome to Basschat
17. Does your Vintage have a P type scratch plate or just a P pickup shaped hole in he body? If it's the latter, you'd be best to avoid the type of pickups with the larger metal base plate, as it won't fit in the hole.
18. Makes sense, although you'd have the highest pitched string at the right, which could be fun. I didn't even get to the stage where I had my own cello, I just used one of the school's ones, like when you forget your PE kit and have to use the smeggy communal plimsolls.
19. I played for a few grades at school. It's tuned in fifths. C G D and A. I think I lost interest because I wasn't passionate about the music I was playing.
20. I probably wouldn't try it with this one
21. Slappindabassman? There's a special soundproofed section on Basschat for those who play slap bass. If you get past two warnings from the taste police, you go straight to solitary confinement in Clutterbuck* Prison. Welcome * Google "Nigel Clutterbuck"
22. Ironically, you'll spend more time on BC and less time actually playing!
23. Welcome. You'll learn a lot, and suddenly realise you need six basses and four amps!
