1.
...more probably whatever came first to hand. It's all in the fingers, anyway..!
As demonstrated by Tony Levin when recording with Peter Gabriel - the thing that came to hand was a nappy!
2. Hell has frozen over, pigs are flying etc. Great info thanks. I've always loved the sound of the Fender VI, especially on the Disintegration album. Looking forward to hearing some recorded (or live) output.
3. Next up is a gig with reggae band By The Rivers at the Bodega Social, Nottingham on Thursday 26th May
4. Great gig supporting Tippa Irie at The Maze, Nottingham on Friday night Short snippet of 'Pressure' https://www.instagram.com/p/BFXgBjzIVET/ Snippet of 'Lolipop' - maybe the last minute decision to ska it up halfway through was ill advised, as we all came in at different times https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10157034025255226&id=636455225 Ah well, it was after midnight and everyone was pissed up and loving it.
5.
Does this help?
Epic rig! How's it going with the Big Twin?
6.
Very nice review, which has given me Glock GAS. And it's quite painful... it's also of a size that would fit nicely on my One10 (horizontally) but I have to ask myself whether 600-odd watts at 8ohms may represent more headroom than I'd actually need...
You can never have too much headroom! Regarding the size and weight, I'd say it feels like halfway between the micro car stereo jobs (eg Shuttle 6) and the 2u solid state heads (eg HD350)
7.
If that's Reni playing drums on the new song I'll eat my chorus pedal.
I know what you mean - I'm fine with the riff and the vocals and simple lyrics, but it sounds like the rhythm section from a different band - not very Stone Roses at all
8. It's not THAT bad imo - just not of the calibre of their golden era. The rhythm seems a bit too driving and rock to be proper Roses
9. Being a geek, I have the box set of every set played by both King Curtis and Aretha during their week long run at the Filmore West. Hours and hours of one of the finest backing bands in history - Magical stuff
10. I've had the Blue Rock for many practices and several gigs now, so thought I'd give some more feedback. I have a standard setting now to get the deep reggae tone, all 12 o'clock apart from bass, which is 3 o'clock this gives me a very similar tone to the almighty previous benchmark Avalon U5 into Crest CA9. The Crest had HUGE bottom end, and the Rock needs that bit of boost to equal that - possibly the difference between enormous transformers and class D? I'm very pleased to conclude that the Blue Rock has clarity, definition and bollocks at band volumes. No sign of falling out of love with it - if anything I love it more the more I play it. To be fair, most if not all of my gigs go through the PA, so my band volume amp-only experience comes from practices. I've had several compliments from soundguys though. No real test of the drive section as it's not relevant for my band (any distortion I use is synth-flavoured from pedals) but nice to know I have it anyway. My master sits on 12 o'clock and that is very loud indeed. I have a slight irrational dislike that I have to tweak the bass control to achieve my ideal tone (ie it's not baked in flat) but I suppose it's like a car's default seat position - you set it how you want it then leave it. Overall, I'm bloody loving it.
11. I had one, then kids happened
12. This Amazing rig...and it looks like the rig that the house band in heaven uses: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/284748-matamp-gt-200-mk1-mint/page__pid__3047596#entry3047596
13.
If i never had to take the strap off I'd just stick with grolsch washers.
That's the trick for me - each bass has its own strap which never comes off. The holes never get stretched so straplocks aren't necessary.
14.
As you mention that, I was curious as to how viable a 33" or even 32" scale low B might be. Does anyone have any info/experiences to share here?
33" seems pretty popular with the likes of Fodera and Wood&Tronics, if that counts for anything.
15.
anybody on here got one yet?
Yes, see this more active thread on the FI http://basschat.co.uk/topic/272884-deep-impact-reissue-not-sure-if-this-has-had-its-own-thread-on-here-yet/page__pid__3042624__st__180#entry3042624
16. You sure that's 45 degrees? Maybe it's just the picture... Go on, get the protractor out
17. One Hot Minute will always be my fave, and my interest faded around Californication. This seems alright though, catchy enough.
18.
headstock - very wrong in a very cool way
Glad it's not just me
19. I think it's the best looking Fodera I've ever seen - the the headstock looks like it has been chopped with a chainsaw - it's so wrong it's great. Really loving the black too
20. Looks great. I love the crazy quarter-headstock
21. Twin exhausts! Pics please!
22. If it helps, those micro screwdriver sets you get in a pound shop have a flathead driver which fits and turns the Badass bolts a treat
23.
Flanger
Now that's just downright rude!
