1.
Do they have sole bands live at the tickled trout?
They had Salmon Dave play there back in the 60s
2. Lignum vitae is crazy stuff - feels halfway between wood and stone, and so heavy. There's a reason you never see a Lignum vitae bass
3.
Everyone's thinking it, you said it
Voted in advance. Looking forward to it
4. If you post a video of yourself standing in the centre of Aberdeen (in your pants) shouting "Gibsons are crap" I'll do it
5. I've seen some Statii with ebony facings. It's expensive, dense and tends to come in small boards, especially if you don't want the bright yellow sapwood.
6. Looks fantastic! FYI I just had a bass fretted by Jon Shuker and he was perfect. Well worth shooting him an email.
7. Looking forward to seeing our support act Ashmore on Saturday. After that it's a DJ night, headlined by the superb Featurecast, and after that, Dreadzone.
8. Simon sold me a tablet for a bargain price. He was quick to post it and it was well packaged. Thanks!
9. Are you going for new or used? Just thinking that if it's an older LM3, it'll be class AB rather than class D, which may be worth taking into account.
10.
I had this issue recently with the B string on a pack of Elixirs and they sent me out a full new set of strings and asked to send them the dodgy string back in an envelope they were sending me. I didn't get the envelope (meaning I had no address to send to) so e-mailed asking for the address and they just asked me to send a picture of the string... ? Great customer service. Got a few picks with the strings as well. Handy to have even though I never use them.
There's me thinking that they were going to examine the dud string in a lab or something - turns out they just wanted to check you weren't telling porkies.
11. Do we know if it's class D or class A/B? On a superficial note, I quite like the crazy green, much nicer than the LM3
12.
Found the new band "Grand Slam JT's Allstars" can't find a website or anything though just dates for the windmill and the tickled trout. Any chance of some links JT?
I have no idea why I find this post so funny
13. I used to enjoy the gear porn and get bored with the idiots and trolls. Now it's the other way round.
14.
You know what as I was typing that I thought "I hope no one thinks I'm a bit dodgy" hahaha I'm actually a really honest guy, in this case someone has been messed about by a shop and rightly sent the bass back all good there right thing too do etc etc. But it takes time away from you, having to repackage the bass and then wait for courier which is an arse on and never mind the "if's" say he had needed the bass for gig. So I felt like many he should of had some form of compensation. If this happened in a private sale ok no issue no ones fault, my issue is with a shop expecting all this and not even offering say a free pack of strings as a goodwill gesture.
Yeah I get that, only messin'
15.
Tell them you put new strings on it at least.... Expensive ones at that and you want compensation for that!. Haha
Considering putting "morally questionable" in Twincam's feedback thread
16. Alas I'm unable to attend this year. I'm usually Simon's gopher helping with things on the day, and I'm sure he'd appreciate some help with the organization as well as bits on the day. Have fun everyone.
17. They look nice, a definite Celinder vibe
18.
Appetite For Destruction - Guns N Roses. Funny though, when it came out I really didn`t like it, only got into them in about 2004, and curse my younger self for being so stoopid.
I thought that, but OP said UK albums :/ also Paul Simon's Gracelend and Pixies' Surfer Rosa This has made me realise how few 80s albums I know, let alone love. For UK ones, I'd have to say The Stone Roses, closely followed by The Cure's Disintegration
19. Sods law as soon as you downsize, you get a gig without PA support In general though, the vast majority of my gigs, I COULD get along fine with a little combo, but I love acres of clean headroom, and it's nice to know that my rig can handle any gig that may arise, PA or not.
20. I wouldn't state that all Class D are lacking, just the ones (with the same old ICE module) that I've had/tried.
