1.
What cabs are you using it with. Plus 5000 venues in a year is seriously impressive - what's that 13 gigs a day?!
I think they mean capacity.
2. Slipping issues aside, I just can't get with that 'padded cell' look of the Mono! The Neotech Mega bass strap is well worth checking out - really comfy and no issues at all.
3. how about a pickguard in the form of the gold number circle from the front of the Lotus? (It would be oval obviously, but could still look pretty cool)
4. Great gig at The Maze, Nottingham supporting the Specials' Neville Staple and band. It was sold out and a very definite audience demographic consisting of middle aged men with no hair, Harrington jackets and DMs. We weren't sure how our quite modern brand of 'urban reggae' would do down, but it was a blinder, and we've never had so much positive feedback after a gig. Neville Staple and band were spot on, playing all the favourites and had the entire room bouncing. Great night, one of the best.
5. Having had octave pedals with and without filter, I couldn't do without that filter dial now.
6. This had a few potential buyers, but one changed his mind and others have vanished, so it's still for sale
7.
Midge Ure .... terrible guitar
Funny to think he was in Thin Lizzy Got to be Finlay Quaye for me - what a shambles!
8. Done. I used to, erm, toilet a silly number of times before a gig, but not any more
9.
Your biggest issue will be the latency on the I/O device. If they can provide a real time foot controller then you're golden. Try it, you might like it.
Sorry, bit new to all this. Have you got a link to an example of one please
10. Thanks Owen, that's good to know. I'll go down and have a jam with him and see what this bank of effects can do. Could be fun!
11. Thanks folks. I'm wavering on selling this one now! I certainly won't be dropping the price; if it doesn't go for this bargain price, I'll keep it just cos it's so frickin cool.
12. I'm very new to this type of thing. I've been approached to play with a DJ, playing filthy squelchy synthy bass over his music. He says that the software on his laptop has all the relevant effects. So, what do I need and what potential issues are there? I have a little Focusrite interface which will enable me to plug into the Mac. I have a good DI - would I need that as well? What about potential issues with latency (is that the right word? Where a delay occurs between playing and hearing) If it's as simple as plugging into the laptop and playing, then I'm wondering why people spend so much on midi equipment?

15.
....probably as surprised as I was to read your spoiler!
Haha, he's only joking -it's Revolution 9
16. I'm selling both of my four string basses, as I've come to the conclusion that I'm a five-string guy. As you may guess, this is W&T's quirky take on the Jazz bass. This has a worn finish - not relic'd like it has been played to death, but more a kind of general aged effect which I really love. Info as follows: - Alder body - 3 piece ash neck with angled maple headstock capped with some fancy wood - Tasmanian blackwood lined fretless board with brass side markers - Brass Nut - Hipshot Lollipop tuners - Mama P and J pups - East/W&T preamp which is basically an East P Retro blendable between both pups. Mains chargeable via jack socket. Active/Passive. - Ebony Control knobs - Weight: 8.68lbs This will come in a top quality Mono M80 semi-rigid case. Here is a video of Mr Wood & Tronics himself Enrico showing off the bass and explaining how the controls work: You are welcome to give it a try – I'm in Nottingham, not far from J26 of the M1 I can wrap it up safely and send it by courier it by courier to mainland UK for £20 If you are further away than that, please ask for a quote My feedback: http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2730811
17. For sale is my beautiful 1979 Fender Precision Bass. In a nutshell Lovely bass, refin, thumbrest replaced, everything else original, weight 11lb 4oz Sounds and plays lush! Comes with a Thomann hardcase. The longer story Back in 2001, I spotted this bass on the wall of MOR Music in York, I wasn't looking for a bass, but decided to give it a try. It felt so good to play and sounded so great that I went home, got my Stingray and part exchanged it there and then. For a decade it was my only gigging bass, helping me play basslines for funk, jazz, function stuff, classic rock, tribute work and reggae. The only problem is that I have become a five string player, and can't seem to gel with a four any more. This came out of the factory Olympic White, but had been stripped down to the bare ash sometime before I had bought it. It has had a full nitro refin to bring it back to the original factory finish. Full nitro means cellulose paint and lacquer, which not only looks great, but will age most quickly to that yummy custardy yellow over time. There are some very minor swirls and marks in the finish, but nothing really photographable. I have only adjusted the truss rod once in fourteen years, and that was just to check that it works, which it does. It's a very solid neck which likes to stay in tune whatever the weather. Nice yellowed maple with a tiny bit of flame in one area, and some standard-for-the-age 'ring rash' where lacquer has worn off the fretboard edges over the years. Frets seem unchanged since I bought it (I play with a light touch) but I had them levelled as part of a service some years ago by The Bass Centre's Chris Ward (tech to many iconic players) who was very complimentary about it. I have recently cleaned everything up ready for sale, polishing all the chrome, switch cleaner in the pots etc. It is currently wearing a brand new set of SIT 45-105 rounds, but I will also include a set of little-used Status Hotwire flats. Idiot that I am, when I disassembled it for cleaning, I misplaced the thumbrest . I'm sure it's in my shed somewhere, but I'd need take a day to clear it out for a proper look. It is fitted with a replica, but I can forward the original if/when it turns up. I'm not really interested in trades unless you have a nice non-coffee table Wood & Tronics fretted five string You are welcome to give it a try – I'm in Nottingham, not far from J26 of the M1 I can wrap it up safely and send it by courier it by courier to mainland UK for £20 If you are further away than that, please ask for a quote My feedback: http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2730811 Thanks to my great photographer Emma, and to BC's resident vintage Fender expert Rick's Fine 52 for helping to corroborate serial numbers/dates
18. I have an effect which can easily damage speakers and ears,so I use mine as a limiter
19. Are you using a valve amp? Could be to do with the voltage saag?
20.
How about you do me the first one, you know, for the exposure. Then if I like it, I'll book you for another one & tell all my friends. Promise.
Are you a landlord by any chance
21.
What is the "overkill" 1800w SS amp you use and what cab(s) do you use with it? I also play with a deep, clean reggae tone and I'm quite happy with my Markbass LM11 into 2x15" cabs, but it lacks the sheer oomph of a big rig.
I use an Avalon U5 pre > Crest CA9 power amp > Barefaced Super Twin
