1. I play with a deep, clean tone, and this needs more power than usual. I've tried various amps ranging from 100w (valve) to 440w (ss) to 900w (class d) None have come close to the tone that I get (at gigging volume) with my "overkill" 1800w SS amp All of these amps can do gigging volume, but it's about the tone.
2.
2K wow I was thinking about 700 notes top shows how much I know lol
Haha, that might cover materials, workshop costs and sundries
3.
Surely a cabinet maker is an Artisan just as a Luthier is (there are many synergies between these craft skills) and can build to the customers requirements. 👍
I could build you one, but it would cost something in the region of £2k Great idea though. A cheaper option would be to pick up a chest of drawers or printers chest from an auction and convert
4. I'd never have guessed that - those are sixteenths Great song, and a proper workout for those plucking fingers.
5. Gravel/concrete/brick wall I agree. I wouldn't be bothered about a garden chair though
6. Just one, a polytune mini. I really don't like the look of headstock tuners
7. The show has sold out already according to Planet Rock
8. Stone Roses' "Breaking into Heaven" is a pretty long intro, maybe four minutes? Just checked this, it's 4:57
9. You're not giving us much to work with, umm the Beatles rooftop gig?
10.
I like the look of it too, but 'Surine' reminds me of 'ursine', i.e. bear-like. Just sayin'. Ooh look, it's time for my meds.
Looks notice, and brings to mind both the MM Big Al and Alpher. I'm not sure I could have a bass with 'urine' in its name though
11. This is pretty dinky https://www.vein-tap.com/product/little-horn-guitar-boost-pedal/ A simple clean boost, but I'd check it does bass as well as guitar. The Markbass Super Booster is good, but huge!
12. Cheers HJ, yeah, next up is with Neville Staples which is pretty cool - need to get some booked in after that though. Here's one from the Black History Month gig at Nottingham Contemporary last night: [Img]http://i1244.photobucket.com/albums/gg580/christopher_brown14/FB_IMG_1446578948054_zpsnu1skapr.jpg" class="ipsImage" />
13. Next up is a gig supporting the original rudeboy Neville Staples and band (the Specials) The Maze, Mansfield Rd, Nottingham 20th November
14. Yeah, the Shuttle is tiny, so well worth bringing this first time just in case. Good luck!
15. Well done for getting through it, and glad you're on the up!
16. "Do you play any latin music?" "Well, I've been known to dip in and out of salsa"
17. Tricky to pull off, but could be great. Also an excuse to buy crazy reverse effect pedals.. http://youtu.be/eFuE-thYZ1A
18.
2. Try a tape-wound string. However to get the benefits of this you need to make sure that the taper is the right length so that the string actually sits on the saddle.
You mean taper wound? That's a whole different string!
19.
Whale "Hobo Humpin' Slobo Babe"
Brilliant song! I had forgotten about that altogether, thanks. Also, of the same ilk, Goldbug's version of Whole Lotta Love
