By the time it came to my adolescent musical awakenings, the 80s were all but over, and apart from The Cramps, Pixies and The Cure, it was the whole Stone Roses/Manchester thing for me. Prior to that, I can remember a few albums I had: Paul Simon's Graceland, a bit of Queen, Westworld, INXS and Showaddywaddy!

Looking at the video in the OP, there must be some sort of awareness that the performance was farcical, because there was no surprised reaction or argument when they were told to quit, he just walked straight off without so much as looking at the guy.
Now I think of it didn't our own Roland Rock's band U-Jahm support FQ for a gig, last year maybe? wonder if he could give us his experience then, could be FQ's been on the slide for a while or this is a recent thing?
Hi Kev, just spotted this. I didn't want to say too much on a public forum as I don't want Basschat getting sued! Happy to be more forthcoming over a pint though

We supported FQ last year. I don't want to say too much on a public forum, but basically he was a nice chap and good singer at soundcheck at 6pm, then an incoherent bumbling mess by showtime at 10pm

Re. Craic - I was born and raised in Northern Ireland, and it was always 'Crack'. If was only after coming to England in the 90s that I started seeing it spelled as 'craic' So it either changed around the 90s, or the English spell it differently (NE being an exception it seems) My feeling is that Guinness popularised 'craic' in their heavy marketing, and it crept onto common usage π Re. PJ basses - Just got my first - looking forward to having a proper play.
I think there's a dumbed-down tendency for the camera to focus on the members of a band who move around the most - and as we know; The Ox and indeed Pino are from that school of bassists who let their fingers do the talking, rather than jumping all over the stage!
Yeah, there's certainly no lack of coverage of Flea when the RHCP play live

Glockenklang BAC vs Jule Monique (best preamp ?)
Roland Rock replied to sifi2112's topic in Amps and Cabs
Sorry, no experience with JM, but I'd like to chip in re. Glocks and power amps. The Glockenklang is one of the best clean heads I've ever heard. It does do dirty, but it's more synthy than valve sounding to my ears so it depends on your perference (I loved it for certain applications) I tried the Glock pre through a decent AB class power amp, and the tone suffered a bit. The power amp is very important for tone. For clean, masses of headroom works best (either valve or SS) and for dirty, a lower wattage valve power amp is amazing. -
I have and use both, and to me there is no difference in 'feel'. Perhaps you should try a few graphite necks and see what you think
The only things that I remember about playing your Status J was that it felt comfortable to play and sounded great.

Very interesting read regarding streaming services.
OK, so as I understand it, Dad3353 is saying that all musicians, agents, managers, record company execs etc should be paid an hourly rate. I'm guessing that after these hourly rates have been paid, any profits goes to the state
I'm off for a practice - who do I invoice? -

Just the one for me -
Found one! This is me jamming in bar in Belize. It was extremely hot, so I make no apologies for the shorts and flip flops. [Img]http://i1244.photobucket.com/albums/gg580/christopher_brown14/1930598_28163065875_1374_n_zpsepti0i57.jpg" class="ipsImage" />

I was watching a Grateful Dead documentary last night, and Bob Weir is a serial offender! Just do a Google image search for "Bob Weir shorts" π¨

Not a fan of buckeye burl; kind of looks like someone has spilled a banana milkshake into an ashtray [Img]http://i1244.photobucket.com/albums/gg580/christopher_brown14/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-07/1f1777635f3add4c11b6e2d8ce7cb8f1_zps6i28mhxs.jpg" class="ipsImage" /> -
Why cover Bohemian Rhapsody at Glastonbury when you can cover Fat Bottomed Girls at home?
Do you actually play an instrument or are on on here just to wind musicians up?
Was the post that bad? Surely she's just saying she loved the show. I don't see the relevance of whether or not she plays an instrument - everyone is entitled to an opinion. FWIW from what I saw, it was pretty rubbish. Good lighting effects though. Anyway, from my experience, Glastonbury is NEVER all about the headline act; it's about getting f***ed up and wandering into a random circus/rave/Hare Krishna/disco area, and having the time of your life when you least expect it βΊπ Unfortunately that kind of experience doesn't get put across on the BBC or Twitter π

Haha, yeah, some people on BC buy and sell so often, having several of their pieces is just plain probable π I suppose if you had a good experience with a seller, especially if they live nearby, then it could be a deciding factor when buying.
