This guy Onyx Ashanti is a real innovator. I don't pretend to know even a fraction of how he does this stuff, but it seems to be like a virtual sax, consisting of a mouthpiece and two handpieces (that he has invented and 3D printed), each sensitive to various movements, inhaling, exhaling, and voice, and converting to sounds. Not only does it look to be upping the game in terms of expression and improvisation for this genre, but looks* and sounds great too. These three videos show the evolution of the interface. He even seems to have introduced 'eye gaze' technology with those glasses. In the third vid, the music starts around 3:25 http://youtu.be/8bJsxIeg5iQ http://youtu.be/8hlBOp5glBw http://youtu.be/EdKynSpKimg *or looks stupid, depending on your point of view. The lights seem to have evolved by the second video.

There are a few more subtle ones - I like the Camel album, and the Run DMC one
I'll admit. I hugged it.
:-D

I was always impressed by their competitive pricing and speedy delivery. The only reason that I don't use them anymore is that they don't stock my preferred brand (Status) but I'd have no hesitation recommending them.
New 212 to match my mk1 GT200 thanks to v8bass... This rig drips tone.
It also drips pure retro mojo sex charisma! Stunning.
asymmetric neck , flat finger board....
I was very pleasantly surprised when I tried these ( on Prime Bass/Stephen's old Zebrano ACG) - The asymmetric neck was immediately comfortable, and makes so much sense in that the further you have to reach toward the fatter strings, the less wood gets in the way, if that makes sense

Just me then :-D

OK, so it means 'Without Amp'. Brushing aside the fact that a preamp is, at the very least symantically speaking, an amp, what's the rationale behind the name? Is it aimed towards the studio market, saying that it's just as good as a mic'ed up amp?
-
Maybe that's why Tech21 have never made it into a full bass head - the sheer paradoxity would make it explode* *or implode, I don't know, I'm not a real scientist
-
"Sansamp" - does it mean 'sans' as in 'without'? Was it designed to be used instead of an amp? Does anyone actually pronounce it the French way, like you would 'Médecins Sans Frontières'?

Speaking of Martin P, how about a 'none more black' J5? (Personally, I'd put a BWB scratchplate on it)... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/247454-sei-bass-5-string-black-beauty/page__pid__2585186#entry2585186 -
£26 posted to mainland UK via UPS Moog Music Inc. EP-2 Expression Pedal - with external control to set the maximum sweep - very handy piece of kit. Good condition and works as it should. It has velcro on the bottom, but the original feet and screws are included, and it comes in a Moog box. No trades please.
I haven't no... I might put a full one up if there is any interest. In short, the Glock has a unique clarity against other class D amps I have tried. I would say that it certainly isn't an amp that will work for everyone, it is very very clean. It doesn't warm up the tone like say a streamliner and also it's not hifi sounding like the GK heads, It basically just amplifies the natural tone of your bass... good sound in - good sound out. I don't even switch in the EQ section on mine, especially with the warwick as it just brings such a lovely deep clear tone through. I've found little experssions in my playing (vibrato ect) come through much clearer on the Glock than any other amps I've tried, as do any badly fingered notes etc... there is nowhere to hide with it! but I'm enjoying it very much at the moment. Looking forward to trying it out with fretless soon I think that will be an area it really sings. I picked mine up from the marketplace here but if I was going for a new one I'd probably have gone for the Blue Sky instead of the Blue Soul as it's basically the same amp with selectable mids, but I'd only be using the EQ to get rid of anything nasty live anyway, so I'm more than happy with the Blue Soul.
Cheers for that. Your description perfectly sums up my experience of the Glock amp (I had the Soul) and it's great to hear that their Class D amps are just a good.

Nice bass, however I'm more interested in the Glock! Have you done a review of it?

Haha, maybe that should be the Amp's slogan: THE ORANGE TERROR BASS probably won't fry your cab

RIP John Holt. Maybe not my favourite artist, but undeniably a serious force in the genre, and king of the Reggae cover version. We played the One Love festival this year, and stuck around to see his headline slot, where he collapsed onstage :-( http://youtu.be/QYh_Kgk2voo

Great price - was that used? I've just bought a Neotech Mega after a shoulder injury, and am very happy with it indeed. The stretch/bounce really absorbs shock compared to my plain leather one. Mega comfy.
Another +1 for the Neotech Mega. Probably the best £20 I've ever spent.
