Sold! See you there on 1st Nov

Well, I had gone for a cheapest online price, but I've cancelled it now as they were showing no sign of dispatching the strap! Ordered from Bass Direct who assure they are sending it tonight. A lesson that a couple of extra quid is worth it for the superior customer service.
I don't want to fan any flames here, but I have to ask, why are people so accepting of this?
I accept it because the handle is in the best place to wheel the cab around, and I've never bashed my shins.

The one song (Cover) that you would love to gig and why ?

God Only Knows......ain't that the truth?
Roland Rock replied to BetaFunk's topic in General Discussion
I suppose it's so bad because you can't help but compare it to the sublime original. Brian Wilson seems to have that multi-voice thing going on like the lady on the thread the other day :-D I don't know why, but I found Dave Grohl's presence especially cringeworthy. -
£830 in the end - probably about right based on the crap listing. Hopefully it's all original and good and someone got a bargain. Then again it could weigh 16lbs :-D
Darn, you always seem to pick a night when I'm doing something else! This Sat it's beer festival followed by mate's 50th birthday meal. Have a good 'un Chris.
Never mind Kev - are you playing Hockley Hustle? were on at Cape Bar at 9 and then Bambuu Club at 11

I don't see any reason why the passive bass shouldn't work with the passive DI, unless you have particularly long cable runs or very low output from your bass that can't be corrected at the desk. Less chance of unwanted noise with the passive too.
I really like the look of both the Decade and the Hollowbody but since they don't appear to make a 5-string version of either I can't see myself buying one.
The Decade is my favourite too. Five string versions do exist, but I'd imagine are pretty scarce: https://www.musicartestore.com/en/lakland_decade_basso_elettrico_made_in_usa-0094490.php#.VDPE0t2kqrU Edit: I really wish I hadn't searched that out, as it's given me bass GAS for the first time in ages!!

I'd have thought that this would be right up Mr Discreet's street.
It's wickid! I love it! Redder Than Red is fabulous! Lovely production and performances, love the bass tone, and your lines are cool riddim. She's got a great voice and attitude. I'm buying that for sure. Class A chill man!
Much appreciated Nigel, thanks! Very encouraging comments. We're really looking forward to getting the tracks out there. They were recorded at Animal Farm in Bermondsey, and mixed there too. Mastered by Submix (BCer Shep) In case anyone is wondering how Nige could glean so much from a 20 second snippet, I had sent the prior fan and trusted critic a link to the full EP. Posting a link to the full versions on a public forum pre-release might get me in trouble, but if anyone's interested to hear them, PM me :-) Purely for feedback and promotion purposes, of course ;-)
Nice one Chris! Sounds tasty I like the cover artwork too.
Cheers Paul, looking forward to it coming out. Thanks for the artwork comment - good feedback as I did it! :-D
What is the difference with the GB6.0 and 6.2?
As I understand it, the 6.0 has the HPF set quite high, and this was lowered for the 6.2 I've also read about a tweak in the EQ voicings too.
Completely different song
I agree, and I love both of them. I like a cover with a totally different interpretation of a song. I think what I like about this is that the electronic sections are what I had hoped Random Access Memories would be more like. The funk/fusion sections are great for me as they are not too smartarse/complex (delete as appropriate) and have a super tight groove - a bit like a Dirty Loops where someone has intervened and binned all of the elements that I dislike. The original and this cover both have different, but enjoyable grooves IMO.

I'm loving this cover of Get Lucky by the excellent Knower. Check out the superb bass playing from Tim Lefebvre (ex Wayne Krantz) http://youtu.be/DMfxKYEN_KQ

I don't think you can beat a sealed cab for punch, speed and controlled bass. How about the Berg NV115?
The Neotech is a good strap - I used one for a few years. Had to have it modified by the local seamstress to shorten it because it was too long for me... but I don't think you'll be disappointed. Very comfortable.
Thanks, that's reassuring. My Bear strap is spot on for me at around 48", which sits nicely within the Nanoweb's specified range.

Been strap shopping so thought I'd resurrect an old yet relevant thread. I happily gigged my 11lb P for eleven years with a thin leather strap (Duck, Son & Pinker written on it - great name) but for the last two years I've almost exclusively been playing my lighter W&T bass with a nice thick leather Bear strap. However, two weeks ago I managed to cycle very quickly into a tree and pop my shoulder (AC) joint, and there is an associated muscular pain down the left shoulder blade, especially with fatigue. So, with a long gig coming up, I thought it would be prudent to get a more comfortable strap. I'd go for the Mono but really dislike the look, and then saw great comments about the Neotech Mega Bass strap. Just ordered one £30 posted from Amazon. Here's hoping it does the job!

Played on Stevie's left hand, Boogie on Reggae Woman has one of the best bass lines ever IMO - quite Jamerson influenced in note choice, but with that lovely glitchy/gated Moog quality.
