1. Seems odd, as my Polytune could do low B no worries
2. "I'm the lucky owner of a Fender Stratocaster belonged to one of the most influential musician of our time: the great Jimi Hendrix. Me and Jimi were real good pals back in the days and on the day of my birthday, after a long celebrative hike on the mountains, he surprised me with this incredible gift. What a surprise!" :-D
3.
Just snagged a blonde piggy-back Bassman after much searching, so thought i'd get some of my stuff out for a pic, so we have 3 x bass and rigs to add to this porn thread; '52 Precision and '52 TV Bassman, '58 Precision and '59 Bassman, '61 Jazz and '63 Bassman
One of the greatest decking/bassgear shots of all time. If, while you were taking the pictures, there was a sudden downpour, what would you grab first?
4.
This Mesa 400 will be going through a Ampeg SVT-210HE Classic.
I haven't played that particular rig, but I get the feeling that if you turn the volume knob up on the Mesa too quickly the cab may explode ;-)
5.
Guys, thanks for all your input! After some persuasion I got the money, and he kept his fugly bass!
Great, now he can sell the rare Steinberger and get his £900 back
6. Love it - it brings together old school electro and electronica in a potassium-rich package. Yummy. You are a skilful blender ;-)
7. Same genus (Acer) but different species. From my experience, maple is easier to work with being a bit less brittle and more consistent. The one time I worked with seasoned sycamore, it was quite knotty and a bit more difficult to get clean cuts.
8. The Big Al is such a Glam looking bass. You know you want one...
9. Mark just bought my rack bag. The communication was great and he was very punctual. Highly recommended.
10.
Well done, Maya! Me, I like the look in the face of that guy with the bass. He's in your band perhaps? (Seriously, I love that look.)
Haha, yes, definitely a proud dad moment
11. I've depped in a glam band a couple of times, and it was always great fun. As well as all the usual stuff we did Devilgate Drive, Virginia Plain and Teenage kicks
12. I'm currently on the process of re-refinishing my S8 P in Capri Orange. mmmmmmmmm
13. Looking forward to hearing these ones - love the idea of a remix challenge. Assuming this is the same song that Skol remixed recently, there should be plenty of scope for variation for this great track.
14. Just been into HotRox - if you wanted to test a pedal, they appear to have four basses in stock (2xG&L, a Bass Collection and a Höfner) but if there were bass amps, they were well hidden - I'd phone ahead to check or bring your own.
15. From what I hear they are always open to constructive criticism of Rays, and keen to hear about any mods
16.
'My Family And Other Animals', Gerald Durrell. Not a comedy, but fun to read and funny as well
I read that for the first time this year and love it - an utterly charming book
17. In which case.... Puckoon - Spike Milligan Catch 22 - Joseph Heller Without Feathers - Woody Allen Confederacy of Dunces - John Kennedy Toole
18. Are we talking music themed, as we're in General Discussion?
