1. Just been into HotRox - if you wanted to test a pedal, they appear to have four basses in stock (2xG&L, a Bass Collection and a Höfner) but if there were bass amps, they were well hidden - I'd phone ahead to check or bring your own.
2. From what I hear they are always open to constructive criticism of Rays, and keen to hear about any mods
3.
'My Family And Other Animals', Gerald Durrell. Not a comedy, but fun to read and funny as well
I read that for the first time this year and love it - an utterly charming book
4. In which case.... Puckoon - Spike Milligan Catch 22 - Joseph Heller Without Feathers - Woody Allen Confederacy of Dunces - John Kennedy Toole
5. Are we talking music themed, as we're in General Discussion?
6. And the Tonehammer 500
7. How is your EQs set? If you don't have enough mids you can really struggle to be heard
8. Great price!
9. I hear that Orange are planning something similar

NPD!!!

Well I'm pleased for you even if no-one else is :-D
11. Last I saw, Adam Clayton was playing his Warwick sig bass? Maybe he's skint :-D
12. This looks different, although it still retains the company colour scheme. Initial online reports say it's really light, and, unusually for Markbass stuff, has quite a prominent inherent scoop. http://www.bassgear.co.uk/product/5984/
13. I haven't experienced the cabs, but had a Glock head - it was a gorgeous balance between clarity and fullness. I honestly can't remember why I sold it. If I was to spend money on a serious touring rig (with roadie help), I'd be checking out the Heart Rock head and 6x10 cab
14. John bought one of my rackbags. The payment was speedy and the communication was great. Great chap to do business with.
15. The Burmans doing it for you then? Bump for a great amp - I played through one of these at a festival last month - quite an exhilarating experience!
16. Poster and FB event for the Contemporary gig: http://www.nottinghamcontemporary.org/event/ujahm-0 https://www.facebook...5/?notif_t=like
17. We played a festival in August and the supplied rig was Ampeg 8x10 and big SVT valve amp (can't remember which) I felt an actual physical surge of energy in my body with each note - crazy. I'm not surprised that these are the benchmark for rock music.
18.
I also have the Iron Ether Oxide. It's a great gated fuzz, and does sound very synthy with an envelope filter and a bit of chorus. Like all gated fuzzes, it can be a little tricky to dial it in - sometime it will miss some quiet notes or be glitching wildly depending on how you set it. It's off my board at the moment, replaced by an Iron Ether Subterranea, which isn't as clipped as a gated fuzz, but way more flexible.
I've just received my Subterranea today and am very very impressed. I think that the Oxide might be coming off!
19. We played at small Nottingham festival Medfest on Saturday. When we arrived, I was disappointed to see a sparse turnout, with a smattering of people passively sitting watching the great Mike Rutherford Band pumping out some blues crowd-pleasers. A couple of reggae acts followed and then us as the final act. Thankfully a group of friends/fans came along and we got a great atmosphere going, with people dancing and kids with too much candy floss in their systems dancing and running like mad things. My six year old daughter, Maya, had been promised last year that she could sing with the band on her favourite song 'Lollipop' so we decided that this would be the gig. It was lovely having her on stage, and she did brilliantly - she was chuffed to bits and is really proud, especially as she was very nervous beforehand.
20.
Have you considered Shep's MP-201 in the classifieds? It's the be all-end all of expression pedals.
I bet those are two tonnes of fun, but that one has sold - besides, my new LFO is being built as we speak :-) I'll report back once I've recieved the Broadcast and hooked it up to my LPF
21. Thanks for that - looks like a great all in one solution. I already have the gated fuzz and the LPF that I need, and have already ordered a Broadcast.
22. Only the Stagg one remains: Deep 42cm Stagg rackbag. Well used but fully useable with no serious wear or rips other than one zip tab missing (just use the other one) - £10 Delivered via UPS for £7.50
23. Here's a pic from the Midlands Bass Bash, featuring Zero9 (right) and his rig.
24. Yeah, tempo sync would be great, but TBH I'm happy with tap tempo setting.
