1. Tom at Cog has politely pointed me towards Robot Factory as the most suitable place to get one. I've emailed them asking whether they can build a custom LFO where you can switch from fast to slow wobble with your foot.
2. Ah ok, I do the same with my preamp, in a Peli case. Do ordinary racks have cushioning?
3.
My Th500's are protected in their foam filled aluminium cases.
I think that answers my question. I didn't realise that they had cushioning built in
4. Probably a silly question, but how much shock protection do racks provide? If the amp is bolted directly onto the rigid box with no cushioning, how does it protect against impacts?
5. They headlined Reading in 1990. I'm pretty sure that today's Health and Safety people would have a fit if they had seen what he was doing :-D
6.
Further pm's replied, currently still here. Mr.discreet, would you be insinuating I'm a magpie gear whore?
It takes one to know one ;-)
7. This video shows pretty much what I'm after. http://youtu.be/whvNhkC4Skg I like the way you can alter the wobble rate with footswitches
8. Two 2u rack bags: Shallow mint Rockbag Rackbag - £25 Deep Stagg rackbag. Well used but fully useable with no serious wear or rips other than one zip tab missing (just use the other one) - £10 Each £7.50 UPS delivery to your door.
9. Thanks. I've also shot a message to Tom at Cog to see what he can do
10. I'd like to get a wobble on by controlling my Xerograph with a LFO pedal. I'm using an expression pedal to do this at the moment, but like the thought of an automatic preset wobble. Are there any simple LFO pedals out there, ideally able to be powered with a standard 9v centre negative power supply?
11. I've used Brian Bond (Camden) in the past and he was great - he came on recommendation from the Gallery.
12. Fortunate Son is a great protest song, and was on the Forrest Gump soundtrack. Also covered by U2 IIRC. Great band and great voice, although I could never 'get' why their cover of Heard it through the Grapevine is so universally admired. Also, years of playing Have You Ever Seen The Rain has spoiled any subsequent enjoyment of that one :-( It's been a while - I reckon a CCR session at work is long overdue.
13.
I always compose my pieces like that, fishing for the 'ladies' vote. I even titled it, this month, 'The Climax'..! Hasn't worked so far, though; my track's a flop.
Haha, ironically, yours is the one I voted for as I have a very unusual frame of reference :-D
14.
Same as all of us: you decide.
Fair enough - In the end I went for the one whose Soundcloud track's shape most resembled a penis
15.
I did try to leave comments on the Soundcloud page but it didn't go on - do you have to be a member/sign in to leave a comment???
Yes you do. Bit like Youtube in that respect. Well done everybody. I have one that I like best, and one that I think represents the picture best - what to do?.....
16. She's playing at quite an intimate venue in Nottingham in September - it would be rude not to attend
17. I'm pretty certain that that is mahogany, not beech
18. I'm not quite sure about this artist, but one thing is for sure, she oozes talent and passion. It's quite mesmerising. Have a look at some soul with a difference: http://youtu.be/FcabnhkjYHE
19. Idiot should have used an infa red camera
20. The old wooden-necked Status basses don't fetch anywhere near as much as their graphite siblings. Not sure if this is a Groove or a Shark, but either way, £425 is maybe a tad high
21. Thanks for the thorough evaluation and pics. From the photos it looks like you are not getting the full benefit of strap contact on your back. Do you think that this is just because it's too wide for you, or could the shape of the strap be tweaked to ensure better contact?
22. I would never bring a backup amp to a gig, but then I play through PAs the vast majority of times, so have the safety net of just DI through the PA. TBH I'm a pretty laid back and optimistic dude, and reckon I wouldn't bring a backup even if I never went through a PA
23. Thanks. I've never seen George L cables and am not familiar with their method of connection, so wanted to make sure that there was nothing unique about them
24. Can I put a standard cable into a George L jack? I have a few .225 George L jacks, and Ideally I'd like to have a couple of George Ls on one end and standard flat jacks on the other side. I'd also like to remove the straight jack from my Moog EP2 and connect a George L instead. Is this possible/wise?
