1. Those curves That binding That flame burst Even, dare I say it...that gold hardware! It looks so fluid, like honey about to drip from the end of a stick. Absolutely love it.
2. Zoom H2 recorder. Condition used but good, and works fine. Includes a 1Gb SD card and case. It's a great recorder, perfect for gigs and rehearsals. I'm near J26 of the M1, otherwise add £4 for postage and packing. My feedback - http://basschat.co.uk/topic/169000-roland-rock/
3. Grahame bought my Trace Twin Valve amp. He's a great chap to deal with, with great communication and no messing about. Top BCer.
4. TC Electronic Polytune pedal. In used but overall good (and fully functional) condition. Velcro on back, no battery installed, and the only mark of note is a small mark on the top corner of the screen - it looks like it has pressed against a small screw at some point - this is well away from the actual LED/display area. It works well, and both polyphonic and single string modes work well for my five string bass. 5. I bought this brand new about a year and a half ago to keep as a backup in my gigbag in case my amp ever packed up mid-gig. That has never happened, and I'm now trying to sell a few bits that I don't use to justify a new pedal purchase. I can't help but feel that I'm invoking the wrath of the law of Sod; my amp is bound to pack in as soon as this has gone A top quality, made in Canada passive DI box This has never been used, and is in mint condition! As you can see below, it comes in the original box (was hard to get into, so a bit ripped on one end), the manual, booklet and a Radial Sticker! I'm based near J26 of the M1, otherwise, add £4.50 for postage and packing. My Feedback - http://basschat.co.u...00-roland-rock/ Here's the blurb from Radial:

Compact passive direct box for stage and studio
Able to handle huge transients without distortion
Transformer isolation eliminates noisy ground loops
Plug and play easy to use feature set - on stage or in the studio
The Radial ProDI is a passive direct box that combines exceptional audio performance with solid dependable construction, making it the ideal general duty direct box for stage and studio. The heart of the ProDI is a custom wound Radial transformer. It features an exceptionally high 140kΩ input impedance to reduce loading while enabling the ProDI to handle extreme signal levels at all frequencies without distortion. This is further improved upon with an internal mu-metal shield to protect against electromagnetic fields that can cause unshielded transformers to distort. [size=3This compact direct box begins with 14-gauge steel I-beam skeleton for added rigidity and Radial's unique book-end design that creates a protective zone around switches and connectors. A full bottom no-slip pad provides both mechanical isolation and electrical insulation to further protect against the rigors of professional touring. The ProDI is ideally suited for instruments such as bass guitar, active acoustics, keyboards and just about anything else! When you consider all of the features and the affordable price tag, it is no wonder the Radial ProDI has become one of the most popular direct boxes ever made.
6.
Sorry guys, just noticed this. Following is a copy of a pm received from Dave on the 5th. "Hi again mate. Crazy few days and now on hols until the 13th June. Consider it fully on hold for you and I'll sort payment and shipping when I get back? Dave" If I don't get on with it, you will be the first to know
Taking advantage of the Carvin's 2ohm output Karl?
7. I have this amp's big brother, and it's a great piece of kit with enormous capabilities including crossovers, LPFs, tailored presets and limiters. Or just keep it simple and turn the DSP off and plug and play. Bloody cheap price too!
8. I'd get someone to fill the crater and keep the mushroomburst.
9. I've played this bass and it's really nice - that asymmetric profile and flat board in conjunction with great build quality make for a superb player. Sounds great too. I'm surprised to see this on sale for so little money - someone snap this up!
10. Welcome to Basschat Saimon :-)
11.
http://www.ppluk.com/I-Make-Music/Understanding-Your-Payments/How-is-money-distributed/
Thanks for that. Here's as close as I could get: "In most instances, performer royalties are divided between the performers listed on a single recording, either based upon their contribution to that recording or as agreed privately." I guessed that it can be split differently depending on band agreement, but was wondering what the split USUALLY is for your average drums/vocals/guitar/bass band?
12.
Also don't forget PPL, a different collection agency from PRS, Especially if you are a band performer or studio player, and not part of the writing team. http://www.ppluk.com/About-Us/Who-We-Are/
Ah yes. It seems that it's PPL payments are what I'm asking about, thanks. So what's normally a band split for these payments?
13. Say a band have a million-selling hit with a cover version. My understanding of royalties is as follows: - Mechanical royalties (CDs/downloads/stream sales) go to the songwriter - Performance royalties (plays on radio, shops playing songs etc) go to the songwriter What income does the band get? I know it's a portion of the income from the mechanical side, but not sure what it's called, and how it is paid. Also, how would bands normally split this income?
14. This is a lovely understated song from Ray Lamontagne. Simmering blues with a pinch of jazz... http://youtu.be/Na_EqJWGC8M
15.
nice - can you describe why you like it so much... and what boxes on the floor you using too!
Ooh, there's a whole essay right there! The pedal board is: Single bypass looper>OC3>Oxide>Xerograph(with EP)>back to looper. Why do I like the rig so much? A number of reasons: - It easily gets the main tone that I want for my band - clean, deep but not boomy, with cut mids and highs. I tried many heads, and this and the Glockenklang were the outright winners. The advantage with this one is its 2000w of headroom. - I love a simple amp where I can get my tones without navigating a sea of gain and parametric EQ knobs - None of the components are that heavy, and it's no real hassle setting it all up/breaking it down. The only thing that it doesn't have is valve grit. I don't need this for my current band, but have kept hold of a valve amp for future projects.
16. Sorry to hear about the accident mate. Hope you're fighting fit soon.
17. This is my gigging rig - and the rig that has caused me to sell off (almost) all my other gear: Avalon U5 Preamp/DI>Crown Xti2000>BF Super Twin
18. That didn't take long. **SOLD PENDING THE USUAL GUBBINS**
19. Glockenklang Soul high-end bass amp, made in Germany . This is a lovely sounding head, and I thought it would be my keeper head, but I've moved to a pre/power amp setup now. It's solid state and very pure sounding. What I like about it is that it is very transparent, yet still adds 'girth' and depth to the tone (especially at high volumes) It also has a lovely overdrive from the pre, despite not being valve. It never sounds harsh or unmusical. From what I hear, most Glock owners bypass the EQ as they love the core tone so much, and that's what I ended up doing too. I've had many compliments from sound guys and bass players. It seems to be very 'honestly' rated in terms of watts - it's plenty loud enough for band situations. The master volume actually works like a volume should - turning from zero to fully clockwise yields a steady increase in volume - no 80% at halfway like many others - and it thrives on being cranked - something I feel many D Class amps are not so great at. Some user reviews: http://www.bassgeard...Version%201.pdf Here's the info from Glock: The Glockenklang Soul head rewards its owners with clear, articulate and powerful sound reproduction. Its power amp was designed to be lightning fast, and to deliver high fidelity performance. The pre amp´s main feature is the 5 band eq, with it´s specially tailored frequency centers. It allows the artist to quickly and exactly shape his individual sound. The Soul amplifier is a top instrument for discriminating bass artists, capable of producing a lively and accurate bass sound, even under extreme conditions. There are a few very small dots where paint has scratched off the edges, and one tiny scratch on top. Otherwise, it's tip top. I prefer not to rackmount my gear (I never feel like they offer enough protection from knocks/vibrations) and keep it in a padded case for transport, placing it on the cab for playing. You'll notice that I've put some Sugru (black silicone) on the corners. This is for extra protection and it makes slipping it into a case much easier. If you don't like this, just peel/cut it off. If shipping, I'd rather use the foam-lined case (pictured) but I must say that although this case offers good protection for the head, it is not what I'd call a gig-quality case. I also have a Warwick rockbag rackbag that you can have. I'm in Nottingham, near J26 of the M1 My Feedback: http://basschat.co.u...00-roland-rock/ This is part of a big clearout, so no trades please
20. Trace Elliott Twin Valve Valve head. I went through a bit of an amp addiction phase, and picked this up a few months ago. It's quite an amazing amp, but I just don't have use for it. I spent money making sure this is working perfectly. This has 2x12AX7s in the preamp and 2x6550s in the power section. I recently took both my valve amps to valve amp guru John Chambers for a checkup/MOT. He told me that one of the power valves was kaput, so put in a matching replacement and given a check over. Now it has been signed off as working 100%. It really is astounding how loud this head is through my Super Twin cab - it had the whole room vibrating with the chairs moving across the floor. Tonewise, it's very versatile. You can get some nice dirt when pushing it, but overall I'd say it's a clean sounding valve amp. There is a preset which gives a scooped EQ (I found this nice for reggae with the treble backed off) and you can kick in the slidey EQ to mould the tone to your tastes. There is a lot of deep bass available from this head, but it can easily be controlled. It is a well-used head, and you can tell cosmetically. The master knob is a replacement, and several of the slidey EQ tabs have snapped, but all are still easily adjustable, even by a nail-biter like me. You can see from the pics the condition. It's well used, but working fine. One of my favourite things about this head is the ease of transport. It's not heavy for a valve amp, and the side handles mean you can grab it with one hand and it hangs really nicely down by your side. Check out the picture of me holding it by the handle with one finger! I'd really rather this was picked up, but if you want to arrange a courier, that can be done. I'm in NG6 Nottingham, not far from J26 of the M1 My Feedback http://basschat.co.u...00-roland-rock/ This is part of a big clearout, so no trades please
