Cool - nice board btw. It reminds me I need to start investigating wah pedals (even though I assume that one on your board is a volume pedal)
Cheers. it's an expression pedal. Basically it controls the cutoff frequency on the LPF. With just the LPF on, it does sound quite wah-like, but with gated fuzz before the LPF, it gets some really synthy wobble type stuff.

Hi Nick, It's a single bypass looper. When off, the signal goes straight from bass to amp. When engaged, it routes the signal through the tuner>fuzz>LPF and back again. I like a combination of fuzz and filter, so I just leave them both on, and pressing on 'The Noose' brings them both into play instantly.

And here it is. it works a treat, and no pops when switching. Now you can see why I wanted the input/output on the right hand side

I've made a little pedal board which had to satisfy two main criteria: 1: It had to fit in my 12"x12" protective case 2: I needed to be able to swap from dry tone to filtered fuzz very quickly I had previously tried to do it so that i could stomp the two effects at the same time, but it didn't work too well

If you were prescribed some cholesterol medicine, you'd be surprised if the doctor pronounced it 'state-ins'. ;-) When using the 'current situation' meaning of the word, I say 'state-us', but for some reason, the string/bass has always been 'stah-tus' to me. Well, I'm consoled that at least three others are the same :-D

...and the next batch of 13 pics. Apologies if I can't remember all names, the day was a bit of a blur of names and faces :-) 1: A decent turnout. Intime Nick on the right (Nike beanie on) chatting to Prime Bass (kneeling) 2: Zero9 having a go on my Ergon 3: Apologies, the name escapes me, but it was a lovely G&L 4: Annoying Twit takes a break from laptops and takes a trip to Warwick corner to see how a full-fat Wick compares to his Rockbass 5: The Hand of John Curley's Gretsch Baritone was a welcome addition to the bash 6: Baritone action through the looper 7: GrammeFriday grooves through the looper on one of his MTDs 8: Norris visits 72Deluxe at Warwick corner 9: Sharman falls for the EUB... 10: ...and tries to convince Mrs Sharman that he needs one. I'd go for the 'tiny footprint' angle myself ;-) 11: 72Deluxe gets joy from Tauzero's Sei fretless 12: Mr and Mrs Manton Customs with a lovely 32" cherry/maple example 13: 16 drivers Zero9? That's just greedy!

The first batch of 14 pictures above, I'll test my memory and label as best I can: apologies in advance for any mistakes: 1: Si excelled himself with printed Bash cards. Hand delivered by Mrs Si! 2: This way! A very handy sign, with easy load in. 3: Barefaced Corner, Prime Bass with his lovely zebrano ACG Graft, Super Compact, Shuttle 9.0 and board of drive craziness! Also my Super Twin, Glockenklang Soul and W&T Ergon, 4: Annoying Twit, either rocking out or passing out with the BC Baton 5: Len Derby having a look at Norris' Ric. 6: The Sharmans visit the Mantons, checking out the quality 32" Manton Custom 7: A couple of beauties belonging to Chairleg 8: Sei fretless and Antoniotsai, with BFM cab and Tecamp Puma 900 - Tauzero's collection 9: Chairleg checks out Norris' EUB 10: Oldman (I think) loads in 11: Marrillionred's Kelly acoustic 5 12: Sod the basses, I want cake! 13: Norris checks out Chairleg's Italia 14: Organiser Si picks up the BC Baton and lays down some grooves through Annoying Twit's own looping software.

Ben was great to deal with. A no-nonsense deal with very quick payment and good communication.
By the late seventies, Fender couldn't make a decent guitar in the states. Under CBS's ownership, standards had fallen and the focus on what their products were actually for had been lost. Most intelligent and informed players preferred the replicas or copies which were being made by the Japanese companies such as Tokai, Fuji Gen ..
Speaking as an informed and intelligent player, I have yet to play any other Fender or Fender replica/copy (including JVs) that I prefer to my '78P :-)

Haha, so looking like a landslide! Where are all those people I spoke to recently who say 'st-aah-tus'? I wonder whether a Talkbass poll would yield different results
You could say the same about fender basses (which I personally consider to be expensive firewood). Should I be diving into every thread on them and making my views known in the interests of "balance" ? - no, it would merely antagonise happy fender owners, and at the end of the day its down to people to do their own research.
You have vastly exceeded your 'sense quota'. You are therefore expelled from this thread. -
Sorry, my mistake. I thought this was the Ashdown owners thread ;-)

It seems I've been saying it incorrectly all these years!

A really great day, thanks all for coming. In terms of organization, Simon was the one who did pretty much everything, I just took a sort of nodding deputy dog role. It was great to meet so many lovely people, and thanks to those who let me try their basses - there were some real beauties there. And I didn't have to put my earplugs in once! Thanks to all who brought food and cakes, and to those who washed up. Here's to next year

Anyone know what this 'resonator' is all about. Are these cabs actually sealed? -
