Wow that is a really nice looking fretless.
I love the Jazz too by the way
I have a Jazz fretless and a fretted one too!
I still have not even played a P yet.
If they look as good as yours then I may do yet!
Can you post a recording?
Can you post some pictures?
It would be worth more if Bill used that actual instrument.
I don't know the name of the scratch plate macker but I am sure someone will be along who does!
Buy cheap, get cheap.
I work for a company that makes industrial connectors.
Our competition beat us on price every time.
We stay in business because after they have used the cheap lookalike ones they come to us for good ones!
I think that most agree with the OP, if it sounded out of place, it was wrong!
If you can change the bass line and it fits so no one notices, you have done well.
This is what I have spent today practicing!

We're all scared, Gareth. So were the UK government. That's why he was shipped to New Zealand.

I've said my bit. I'm off to practise the bass. Must get those lines note-for-note.
UNFOLLOW! END COMMUNICATION! BLEEP!

But if I quote you, you will still get the reminder.......
I too am off to [s]improvise[/s] learn the notes!
I just noodle tbh.
If there is anyone in the shop, I blank them and concentrate on the bass.
Having said that, I ended up jamming with an acoustic guitarist in PMT Oxford whilst trying out a bass!

WTF?? What would a drummer be busy doing that's more important than drumming?
Edit: Learning to spell. Ha, ha, ha!

This particular drummer actually had friends....... I know, shocking!

Drummers. Classic.
Well one practice was cancelled due the drummer emailing me so say:
"I can't make it because I am busy"
Go figure

I played 17 once, on the G string, apparently it's a C note, but I didn't like it. Not been back since, I let the guitarist play up there.
Totally agree!

1) A process involving a jar of Vaseline and a small capon.
2) Playing bass using one plucking finger only (usually index finger) a la Motown bassist James Jamerson.
Thanks I quite often play with my thumb because of joint problems.
I do know who James Jamerson is, I just didn't know he had a special technique!
Edited for clarity
