1. My mate Stitch always seems to pull something out of the bag. Perhaps not to the degree you are talking about though. When he plays acoustic he can really make the notes come alive. I have listened to him for hours! We usually start to jam but my playing tails off as he takes things into different directions that I find hard to follow
2.
Yeah! So. Erm....Banjos!
Do the four string versions count as a bass.....?
3.
A sub section just for bass players would be a good idea.
Presses 'Like' button whilst rolling on floor........
4. I have an acoustic guitar (Fender) and an Epiphone SG copy. My pride and joy in the guitar world is my Parker PM20. I also dabble with keys and bongo's Bass is my main instrument now (and has been for the last couple of years) but I want to get a sax before I hit 50
5. Some of you may know that I recently advertised to start a covers band in Bucks. We now have a singer so the line up is complete After only three weeks, we have 10 songs that are close to gig standard but they really came together whilst trying the singer out. This is my first venture that I have started rather than joining some one elses. I'm happy with the progress and we hope to get gigging by the end of March. The drummer and I are getting on great. Has anyone else had this type of experience where you just gel?
6. I play both but have no desire to have a seperate section for odd balls like me!
7.
LOL, it was hitting 30 that did it. Its harder to stay slim!
Try hitting your mid forties I just tend to give up on worrying about it
8. Welcome to the forum. Lots of great gear in the for sale section (I have to stay away from there as I keep buying stuff!). Good luck with your journey to the low side
9. All of my basses are sub £200 and I love them The two cough 'fender' jazz basses were £150 each and they get played every day (one fretted and one fretless). The Epiphone Viola hangs on the wall (best place for it) and the Rogue fretless goes to jam nights etc. Very happy with my little collection and GAS has dissapated on the bass front
10. I have a Jaco replica Bass.... I didn't know who he was until I bought it
11. If you can hit root notes and keep time you can play in a band

Allo!

That sounds painful Toni Iomi made finger tips like that! No advice on fingers but good luck.
13. Is that recorded with a fretless? Sounded really cool. Keep posting as they are an inspiration to us.
14. Enjoyable and really relaxing Not the usual thing I listen to but made a nice change! Well done.
15. Welcome to the mid life crisis forum
16. I just brought a 15" cab from James. Really nice chap. Good deal and the cab was in better condition than the photo's suggested
17. This is now mine and very nice it is too!
18. Resolutions...... Get gigging with my new band!!!! Loose some weight and get a bit fitter Continue to improve my sight reading. Happy New Year!
19.
Why should they accept liability for things that aren't packaged properly? They're there to deliver parcels, not to check that the sender hasn't been a pillock.
This ^
20. Nice song. Really liked the inventive use of a skateboard for a camera mount.
21. This why when I sell a bass / guitar / anything that can get damaged I say pick up only. It does make your target audience smaller although when I sold a bass recently, the chap drove over from France! You are totally in the right. Lack of communication is just bad manners!
22. Bass wise, I'm happy enough but I have severe GAS for a giggable amp rig. Probably a class D with light weight cabs. At the moment the GAS is just for the rig but will get more specific as the first gig with the new band gets closer.
23.
You've had that medical attention and no one has pointed out how you can manage your back for the future..?? I am not sure I would want to be in their care, tbh...!!
To be fair, I was warned about food intake and the requirement of gentle exercise but after a while it all went out the window. Sadly I am now paying the price
24. Well, I am over weight and unfit I have had two operations on my spine and two on my right knee. At rehearsal last week, after three hours of standing, playing the bass (not forgetting I have been an acoustic guitarist for many years!) my back was on fire! I think that I should loose some weight and get fitter if I am going to gig a 10lb bass!
