I have just started at my new job and before I took it, they made it clear that gigs could not interfere with my work. I don't work weekends and we all finish at 4:00pm on a Friday so I hope it won't be a problem. Weekday gigs are no longer possible as I work 40 miles from home and would have to take a half days holiday

I dream of a Made in USA Mine are Squirer with fake logo's on
good luck with that, if you get gigging in Aylesbury let me know, and I'll try to pop down!
I now have a guitarist and a drummer. Just a singer short of a full band If it gets going, I will post on here. Thanks for the support.

Bass withdrawl: the shakes are setting in :(
Blademan_98 replied to Jim Other's topic in Introductions
To be bassless is a pain. I've been away on business for a week and missed my bass It was only a week but I still got the shakes! Welcome to forum -
Stunning Jazz nuff said!

That does sound like the pot is damaged. To check, take a new pot and instead of soldering the earth, use a crimp terminal. Solder the other joints and try the bass (without assembling the pot etc). If it still does it then the problem lays else where.

That's why I play a fretless.....

+1 on the Eb D# is overated IMO They are the same on 'my' bass. I too have wondered why convention stops us writing a G instead of F##

Brag time About 6 months ago, the guitarist of tribute band Slyde let me have a noodle on a Super Yob guitar! A nightmare to play but was a bit cool. I love Slade and Jim Lea could really drive a tune along!
He clearly didn't want to play with you any more but didn't have the bottle to say so. I've come across quite a few acoustic singer/songwriter types like this. They decide thay want a bass player (or a band), get some people together, realise that they can barely organise themselves to get to a rehearsal or a gig, never mind 2 or 3 other individuals and insetad of saying anything, they bury their head and the sand and hope that everyone will go away.
My thoughts exactly!
I'd send him an invoice for your wasted time and the expense of turning up to the gig.
Sorry to the OP for the hijack and I hope that his new ventures are successful

I too thought the same...... these chaps soon put me right

You should get a nice discussion if you mention either Jazz or P on here Welcome aboard, it's a great place to be!

Sounds like you are on your way! There are a few threads on here about suitable cabs and it is worth using the search facility to find them. Good luck and post some pics!
What a guy, huh..??
Yeah, it was a bit awkward....! And I still don't know what happened or why it has finished

Sounds like you are better off out of it My acoustic duo have split up. I only know this because I went to a gig on Sunday and found out the other chap was playing.......... We haven't spoken for around 4 months and he didn't return my calls or emails. I don't know what has happened so I am trying to start an electric band instead

Commenting on for sale section prices?
Blademan_98 replied to stingrayPete1977's topic in General Discussion
Read what you went on to say before posting. Had no comment worth adding or view worth expressing on that content. Did, however, disagree with your suggestion that it was for members to inform on seller's listings in order to have moderators review seller's pricing, so specifically highlighted, and commented.
But that took my comment out of context. I was pointing out that Pete had the option of not breaking the rules by talking to a mod instead of posting on the price. I agree that it is not really up to any of us to review prices and all items will find their own level. Personally, I would not even contact someone who had an elevated price. I would check if the item was worth it and if over priced, I would look else where. No point in offering a low price tbh as it offen offends! -
This assumes the seller is making an error. Just because the seller is asking a price that others here think is unrealistic does not mean the seller is making any error. The owner of an item has the right to ask whatever price they decide, and it is neither the right nor the responsibility of any member or a moderator to comment on or question that, where the seller is adhering to the rules laid down for participation in the marketplace. It is, as with all transactions, the responsibility of any potential buyers to familiarise themselves with the goods and the market value of those goods.
I did go on to say:
Anyway, it probably won't sell at an inflated rate because, as you say, we all have google!
-
Good luck with that! I,m in a similar situation, rehearsing with two guitars and a drummer and coming along quite well. We havent had much luck with a singer though, it may be that we will sing ourselves and sod the singer. We can all sing a bit, but not well enough to be a good front man.
Cheers! I know it's a long shot but you have to start somewhere....... I did have a drummer and a guitarist lined up but sadly they have both over committed in other bands. So, it's adverts and asking around. Hope you get a singer soon

A great inspiration for all Good news and I hope you continue in your recovery. Well done!

Perhaps it is best to inform a mod and let them point out the error of the noobs ways? That way you wouldn't be breaking the rules yourself? Anyway, it probably won't sell at an inflated rate because, as you say, we all have google! -
Hi All, I am looking to put a band together playing Blues / Rock based covers. As for set lists, we all get a say lets start as we mean to on! I am in Aylesbury (Buckinghamshire) and have my own rehearsal space. I've put an ad on JoinMyBand (http://www.joinmyban...nd-t284193.html) If you know of a singer/guitarist/drummer looking to play in such a band, get them to contact me (either through BC or JoinMyBand). As for age or ability, I am not bothered. If you can sing in tune or string a 12 bar together or keep a beat, then you can join! I would like to get gigging in the new year. I have experience in gigging and if you don't it really does not matter. Jump in and have a go! I have a PA and microphones and a few pubs that are open to new bands. Cheers Brian

I don't usually take two on stage but if I did it would be my two Jazz's One fretted and the other fretless. But I usually just have the fretless.
