1. I usually get asked to play unplugged or in the next room / building My playing partner in the duo says that if we don't get asked to turn down, we aren't pro
 2.

I just wet myself

 4. My thanks to Mark for letting me have a go on his Dingwall Thanks to John for showing me how my bass should sound A pleasant afternoon in Stratford where I grew up in the late 70's Well worth the trip to meet some interesting and well informed chaps!
 5.
True, but did he flinch at the prospect of D?
Probably not, LSD does that to you (so I have heard!).
 6.
I love playing with guitarists who don't flinch at the mention of Eb.
Jimi never complained of Eb..........
 7. Gear sorted and packed Leaving around 12:30pm to get there for 2:00pm. See you all there!
 8.
Why would you need strings for an Air Guitar?
This made me chuckle
 9.
Also troe...Tony Levin......erm.....Bloke who plays for Jools......erm.......
Dave Swift I believe I have a bald head so win - win for me
 10.
Here's my attempt
You just need a beard now.......
 11.
Look left
Is that really you? Wish my beard was that full (see pic with hat on earlier).
 12. I have four '4' string basses. 2 fretted and 2 fretless. I was thinking about dropping that down to just the two. I sat down today and played them all in turn. I really did think that it would jump out at me which ones to lose. I decided in the end that four is not excessive and I really did not want to part with any of them. It was a great couple of hours and made me really smile Those of you with mutiple basses, do you have a day like that and just play them all to really get a feel for them? My 5 string fretless just sat on it's stand looking upset and unloved
 13.
I just mash my fabulous hair into a hat shape, it's almost a good as a real hat. OK, 38% as good. OK, 14% as good.
Pictures or it just isn't true.......
 14. I like the site. There are features 'missing' but the whole layout is really cool. Yay I am moving with the times..... now where is my Fender Jazz Bass
 15. That is a sweet looking bass. The gap is not too bad (still think balsa wood is the way to go). Thanks for posting the pics.
 16. [sharedmedia=core:attachments:72225] Like this?
 17. It is a great job well done Ped and team. Keeping the site free keeps it alive. I think that all of the users of the site should show a bit of appreciation.
 18.
Sounds good.. Not sure about the power situation around the room so would be great if folk could bring power reels/extension cables with them.....
Do they have to carry a current PAT test sticker? If so, mine are sadly out of date!
 19. I am so looking forward to this! Wedding anniversary and Bass Bash in the same weekend! Here's to Sunday
 20.
Surely if you offer to post it, you'd sell it for a fair amount more? Hell at that price I'd gladly pay for a gig bag to be delivered to your house, and a courier to then pickup the bass from you and drop it off to me. PM me if you're at all interested?
I just don't want to post it. I would rather let anyone who wanted it to play it first and if they wanted it to take it away with them. Nice cup of tea available too! Cheers Brian
 21. My first few post did seem slow. I've just logged back on to see if it's picked up Edit: that worked quite quickly!
 22.
Hm what's that 5 string yamaha I see in your sig... 50 quid... seriously? (I won't buy it because I live oversees now but I guess I would if I was near you)
Yes, seriously! I don't do 5 string I did try.......
 23. The gap needs to be filled in case of a knock (as you suggest). I would use balsa wood as it will compress as you push it in. Cardboard would work though. Good luck.
 24.
Even after adjusting the saddle distances? I can't see any reason why this would happen.
I spent a fair while on it but I just could not get the intonation right. I gave up in the end and returned it to EADG and sold it Just because I couldn't get it to work, doesn't mean it won't work for you.
