1. Orange crush 50w gets my vote. I have one. Headphone for silent practice. Great for small pub gigs. Line out for PA and use it as a monitor for larger gigs
2. You could always de-fret again and have nice markers
3. Very nice love the fretless that is class!
4. This debate seems always to break down into two camps Those who like the banter and grin at the offers and those who take offence I'm in the former as I like to haggle
5. I like my guitars to look like I have cared for them. Not like I have thrown them around every hotel room on the tour. I'm just not a relic fan (especially artifical). It's funny how when you sell a bass or guitar, if it has a ding then folks try and knock you down. That chap is charging loads for something that is not even a real Strat!
6. I did once see a guitar on eBay with a broken string and in the description it said 'easy fix for those that are in the know' The guitar in question was bought by me and yes I did manage to fix it so I must be in the know
7. I will agree he is talented........ (did I just type that? )
8.
anywhere in particular that carries that stuff or is it an ebay job?
Lots of art shops etc carry it. or Ebay is always good
9. I personally can't see the fuss about Prince. But I know I'm in the minority with this
10.
Exactly my thoughts. However, although being half Estonian, I don't know at a cultural level what works in the market here. And, as I'm slowly beginning to learn, 'cheese' seems to sell. Partially because of being shut up inside the USSR for so long, the music culture in Estonia is sometimes a bit strange and dated. I appreciate all the feedback. Perhaps this is a situation where commercial considerations trump matters of taste? For 50+ EUR a gig, and within a band that is well organised with gigs planned months ahead, I'd be willing to play almost anything!
When you put it that way, it's cheese all the way
11.
One thing I never got about cars is when people use paying in cash as a bargaining point, you can pay by any way you want it aint gonna make the price go down.
I have to disagree on the car thing. I bought a car from a dealer. I paid cash (£3,500) and he put it through his books as £1000 less and we split the difference. All very dodgy but I did get a three year old car with low mileage for well under book value. It does sometimes work. On the other hand (with eBay) some people take the mick. I have just viewed a car (because of redundancy I need a replacement for my company car) that was at top book on an 03 plate. The paint was faded, there were a lot of small dents marks not mentioned in the advert and the sevice 'history' was just smudged stamps that did not look real. Instead of a lower than the starting price offer, I just walked away. It does make you see both sides of the story
12. It is a shame that so many people try it on but as Clarky say's money's tight. Hope you get what you want for the bass. The rant is always good to get things off your chest
13. I was going to get involved in this discussion but realised that I haven't got a clue....... I know ports are supposed to be worked out mathematically but they all just look like holes to me I'll get me coat............
14. I like the sound a 1 x 15 gives to a rig but for sheer grunt, the 4 x 10 wins. I find a 1 x 18 goes lower still but gets a bit wooly What a great debate!

18.
I think one or two medleys in a set is ok but imo you can overdo it.
^ This There are better ways than 1 minute parts of songs mashed together. One medly is enough

Hi all.

Welcome aboard it is an addictive forum lol
20. iCastle on here has a saying: "If you want five different answers ask three bass players!" Thats what this type of thread always ends up as
21.
I want a Stingray, a Sandberg and a Sadowsky.
My parents always said 'I wants don't get' Now my misses says it
22.
I think we've been here Pete. I'll keep my mouth shut this time. Coolest? For me? Probably Mr Lynott off the top of my head. Although Lem is damn cool.
+1 on Mr Lynott
23. I can't slap (yet) but as I have a tash and a beer gut, perhaps I had better stop now! I tend to run scales, then play Radar Love (Golden Earing) and give it back to the shop chap Though the last time I did that, the music shop guy joined in on the drums!
24. If we are just talking cool, then my mate Dave March in the band 'The Shuffle' is pretty cool I've known him for years and he also plays drums, guitar and keys! (You didn't say they had to be famous!)
25. Really enjoyable - top marks
