1. Bands are great If you don't practice and don't listen to yourself, you will never improve. It's hard to tell friends they are crap though too
2. You will fit in nicely Welcome!
3.
Well as Ampeg are my preferred bass sound, I`d always go for that, but looking at totally impartially, the Ampeg is so much more flexible. The Terror is a great amp, incredibly loud, and, although a lot of people say it`s too gainy, I found with gain & volume on 2, it was plenty clean and loud enough for pub gigs. That said, I found that the eq didn`t do too much, so if you want to experiment with different sounds, unless you have pedals, it won`t really be an option. I`ve updated my review above, having now used the Ampeg for both a gig, and recording in the studio.
Thanks for this review. I am looking for a light weight rig once the Marshall has gone I was sort of leaning towards the Orange........ I will have to try them both out.
4.
Give the Ashdown it's due, I bet it's a trouser flapper when the amp is turned up LOUD.
Is there any other way of playing? Turn it up and watch the glass rattle in the frames!
5. I couldn't bring myself to pay that for a bass, even if I had that sort of money.
6. I like her playing I also saw her with Jeff Beck (and I can't stand him lol). My daughter has just started her journey learning to play bass. I hope she doesn't get too good as you lot will just say it's because she's a girl (also it will show me up!)
7. Hi All I have decided to part with my Marshall MB4210 + MBC115 amplifier. It's on eBay (here) [s]Going for £200. If a BCer wants it, I will pull the auction.[/s] Now got bids on it so I can't pull it now Pick up from Aylesbury, Bucks. PM if interested. The price is firm as I will keep it if it doesn't sell It's 450w at 4ohms and is loud (and heavy lol). I will trade (straight swop) for a four string fretless (acoustic or electric). Cheers Blademan
8.
At the risk of being told "go google"...whassat then?
lol you beat me to it! I clicked the 'never heard of it' choice. Oh there is so much to this music thing.....................
9. Thanks for the bass clef transcription I no longer have a year to practice I had better get straight on it and upload my results Thanks again Blademan
10. Sometimes, you have to leave it a while...... Also, it is not too good on laquer It is good on painted pine
11. Thanks for the pictures. I will have it and have sent a PM. Cheers!
12. It only had four strings.........
13.
For sale, Gator bass hard case, well used but in good condition apart from strap that stops the lid from opening all the way has come adrift and there is no key for the lock. Only £25, buyer collects, located near Dunstable Thanks for looking Spike
Have you got a picture? I'm in Aylesbury so I might be interested. Thanks.
14.
No problem, if you're in no hurry (2012, perhaps..?). If you only knew how slow I am...
That's cool, it gives me another year to practice
15. As it's chord progrssion is E DD G D play the root notes. There are some Root 5th fills along the way that come along in the breaks. Sounds a bit like the Who's Can't Explain
16. With all the cracks in it, I would be very wary of buying it
17.
And whilst were on the subject how do you change the little comment that sits underneath it?
Once you get to 250 posts, there is a place in the edit profile that allows you to change it. Get posting!
18.
Excellent transcription, with the added bonus of giving me a few hours work to transpose all to bass key (I needed the exercise anyway...).
Perhaps you could post the bass clef version when transposed......? Thank you!
19. Interesting that most comments said use the 15 but the poll shows the 2 x 10 is the winner! My Marshall combo is 2 x 10 and the extension is a 15. The 2 x 10 is great on it's own, but the 15 really gives it depth. Turn it up and play LOUD
20. This is a great bass. £150 and it has a whole range of tones! Putting it through my little Orange Crush it sounded cool. Pushed through my Marshall, wow Big grins all around!
21. I really enjoyed the groove
22. Cool, thanks for that post
