1.
ah, you mean the spacers? yeah, they slow you down, don't they?
Yep, and totally confuse me. I would have to be precise (and in tune!). The fretless means I can play any note and keep sliding it around until it resolves and sounds good
2. I would probably struggle, especially if the bass had those metal things on it
3. now then, I saw YOB bass and thought....... I know of the Super YOB guitar that Dave Hill played in Slade. Wow, I would buy a Super YOB bass, oh yes. Imagine my dissapointment when I realised what you were all going on about Anyway, I will have a 1965 bass, preferably British in manufacture?
4. Sadly I have never played a P bass. Something I feel I should rectify
5. I am colour blind so I like black guitars because I can tell they are black The last time I was allowed to paint anything in our house on my own, apparently the skirting boards and door frames were pale yellow and the walls pale blue...... I hang my head in shame (because if I had of read the can I would of known....)
6.
When I was thinking about a refinish I was recommended to John Diggins and there's example prices on his website http://www.jaydeecustomguitars.co.uk/repairs.html In the end I decided against it.
Ouch they are expensive!
7. Volume to 11 I tend to fiddle per location as above.
8. Welcome to the forum. Lots of nice chatty people here Lots of nice basses for sale too (although my misses doesn't let me look at them!). Blademan
9. I have the MB4210 with a 1x15 extension cab. The sound of the MB series is great! I went for the split as each section is 33kgs and is easier to move
10. Welcome aboard. Lots of good advice and banter on here!
11. Pinball Wizard is always a good one for the electric band. That's Entertainment is good for the acoustic duo. Anything that rocks really!
12. Did I miss the fight?
13. US only (Japanese tickets not for sale!). Have to wait for the DVD then
14. Welcome aboard. What amp have you gone for? I'm 45 and only started playing bass a year ago. (Been playing guitar for a fair few years!) It's all good
15. I hope he continues to practice and have fun while learning. Happy Jack, same to you My misses will hide the redundacy cheque to stop me buying a DB
16. Basses, guitars, bongo drums, amps, mics, keyboard.... in fact all my music making equipment
17. Can I just point out that if no one buys new, then the companies selling basses will go out of business and all the second hand basses will eventually all disintergrate and the will be no more basses I have bought one new bass and two second hand, just to keep the balance
18.
Crikey! This garage conversion is starting to sound better than my house!
That's what my misses said when I completed my studio. But as it is the bolt hole I use, it needs to sweet!
19. I was going to sound proof my studio but next door is a drummer / bass player and the other side are just very noisy. We rehearse at sensible volumes and you can hear it outside but my misses says it is quite faint by the time it gets to the house. I don't like to rehearse at mega levels anyway because I end up wearing ear plugs! Just warm and dry is good enough. (my little studio is down the end of the garden around 50 feet from the house).
20. Welcome fellow guitarist turned bass player. This is a great forum and very helpful Oh and I picked up a great amp and fretless 5 string from the for sale section lol
21. Yeah but I went fretless because of the metal spacers slowing me down.......
22. Hmmm nice. No dear, I'm not gassing after the nice mans DB's........ I really should not go on BC when the wife is around
23. That's great I wish I was nearer Have a good one!
24. I picked up Steve's recycled MAG300 head today. Very nice chap! Thank you my friend making me smile in an otherwise rubbish day!
