1.
I think maybe the RBX range is what most people think of when they think of Yamaha's. I mean lots of pros have played Yamahas over the years so it's not as if they haven't tried to market the upper level instruments with signature models etc.
I bought a cheap Yamaha 5 string off Megallica and it plays really well. I have re strung it as it had a high C on it. BUT after much ribbing from muso friends, I have removed the Yamaha logo and put a Fender one on it Snobbish not me..................
2. Welcome aboard
3. Cool Is somebody going to tell him?
4. I will be spending some time getting to grips with the settings tomorrow. I am having a day off work to give me a nice long weekend to just enjoy playing! The grin just keeps getting bigger
5. I did that for a band I used to do the sound for. They used it to get their first gig then word of mouth did the rest If you only do the local pub circuit, it is quite expensive and not that effective. If you want to play larger venues (clubs etc) around the country then it is a must!
6.
I can play guitar, but not to the standard that I'd feel comfortable to perform at.
Ah another one who needs to stay away when I perform
7. There are a few very nice P basses for sale at the moment. (my misses is about, quick change page... )
8. I listened to it on my netbook so the bass didn't come through that well. I liked the tune itself. I'll have a proper listen tomorrow through some decent speakers! Good stuff and yes, I too like the raw sound of live recording
9.
Yes! It wont be long for a +1 though
+1
10. +1 Latency is a killer with computer recording. It's why I bought a cheap second hand dedicated recorder. It has USB to dump the tracks down after recording so I can mix it on the laptop
11. a recording of me playing 'That's Entertainment' by The Jam. How vane is that
12.
One thing I cannot stand is guitarists picking up a bass and playing it badly, expecting it to be 'an easier version of guitar'.
Best not come to any of my gigs then
13. I play acoustic guitar in a duo. Started to play bass because some of the songs called for it really. I have now sold all but three electric guitars and one acoustic. I own three basses and three bass amps..... (oh an a VOX AC15 , an Ashdown Peacemaker and a PA lol)
14. I have bought a bass and amp from this site since I joined in December. By the sounds of it, I have only got a slight case of GAS I just saw that Dean fretless (drat). My misses is very supportive as long as I don't duplicate So I have a 4 string fretted and fretless and a 5 fretless. A small amp and a huge one. 5 string fretted has got to be next
15. Welcome aboard
16. I too have been impressed by the good nature of BCers. It really does bring it home that the world is full of nice people. It's a shame that the news only ever reports the scum that float about This is a great forum
17. Welcome aboard I just snapped up an amp today! As above some really good bargains to be had
18. I just bought NickH's Marshall rig. 450 watts 2x10 combo with extension cab (1x15) Foot switchable channels with a blend between transistor and tube. I played my fretless through it at his house and it just blew me away Can't wait to gig it
19. I would just like to say that Nick is a really great bloke! I purchased his MB4210 rig today. He waited for me to be able to collect (over a week after I had said I would buy it) as I could not get there any sooner On the way I was delayed by traffic but I finally got there. Nick let me play his beautiful Status through the amp It was totally as described (in fact better) and I am a happy chap Many thanks to Nick for his patience (and a lovely cup of coffee) today. Cheers Brian
20. I feft a bit guilty after my last post.... If you don't know what a guitar is then you wouldn't know it has strings Then again, Google is your friend.... Not feeling too guilty after thinking it through
21. They all look great to me
22. Looks really cool I too would like to hear a sound clip
23.
It looks really cool...
Oh definately a +1 on the looks! Bet it sounds superb too Great to get reaquainted with an old friend.
24. That's an interesting point about the leads I did it the other way around. I picked up a speaker lead and played my guitar through my AC15.... It sounded awful. I was all for taking the amp to a repairer! Leads make all the difference
25. Hmmmm that's generally more than I pay for a complete bass
