1. Wow, that is really cool. Bass was well balanced and the twiddly bits were great. The vocals were clear (maybe a little to loud but thats really subjective). Great stuff!
2.
I think its fair to judge a brand on anything/everything that they produce. As long as u look at specs and try to understand their aims you could still check for Qa and general sound character.
+1 I think that was the point I was trying to make. The Crush range is a cheap entry level combo (practice or otherwise) and it's build quality is good. I was an Ashdown fan until I tried the Orange.
3. Whish I had started a band at 17.................... Oh I did, we were called 'The Projectors' Crashed and burned in the first year. I wish her every success and hope she makes it in her genre. I was in Camden yesterday and it was full of Gothic horror people who would like that sort of thing!
4. I have an Orange 50w bass amp. It doesn't sound anything like the Orange big rigs, but at £180 it's loud and has some nice features (like a tuner). It suits my purposes and if I ever get to playing a stadium, I am sure I will get a huge Orange stack and love it as much
5. Great looking bass though.......
6. Is it this one? I have heard they are faking these (in the Milky Way) Best be careful
7. Are to be sure, it's a long way to Ballymena.......
8. Fingerz, will you stop showing me such things until I get a little better
9.
That's interesting, I had thought about that, but have never seen it done, and I was worried whether that would put a strain on the neck joint that it wasn't designed for. Presumably you've not had any indications of any problems like that?
I've had no trouble with it. The bass is as light as anything anyway.
be carefull there. dont do go screwing through into the truss channel. common sense but you never know.
It's just tied on as with my acoustic guitar. All well balanced it just looks odd as nobody seems to do it!
10. Other folk on the site that know a lot about valve amps and electronics will probably clarify, but I'm sure that it is something to do with power tubes needing to have a load of some kind. +1 Always best to have a load on a running amp. May I ask why you would want to run it without anything attached?
11. Fast and furious! I generally liked the mix and felt that you were probably getting the desired effect. Great stuff!
12. Yes Please! PM'd
13. All very nice. I only use a Chorus pedal (on my fretless) but each to their own. How does it all sound?
14. Welcome aboard
15. The Viola suffers from that so I bought a long strap and fixed it (acoustic guitar style) to the neck. Job done no more neck dive!
16. Cool vid, especially liked the intro. You just wait in anticipation of the heavy riffing Great stuff
17.
Don't joke! I came across this at the weekend: AC/DC for Ukulele
NOW I have GAS for a Ukulele........... this site is driving me mad!
18.
wow Thanks for the prompt replies guys on your low to high recommendation F# B E A D G would you say dropping the F# to an E would be ok so i match the 8 string guitar work?
Theres no problem with that, but you can lose pitch definition. Also, F# keeps learned paterns correct (IMO)
19. There you all go again about 'changing' strings! I've only bought one set of strings in my life and they are still in the packet!
20. If you are tuning a 6 string bass then keep it in 5th's. Low to high: F# B E A D G or B E A D G C
21. I sold all but four of my guitars late last year (I had 12). Up to three basses now. One more and I will try and keep it at that!
22. Funny that if I say I can't play it in a different key, I'm told to buckle down and learn it. The singer can't sing it and it's well you will just have to transpose it into a key I can sing in......
