1. can't believe it is still there! Have a free bump!
2. I can't believe this is not sold. the best hybrid amp ever made! If I did not owned 2 already I'd buy it!
3. don't sell, you'll regret it. I still have mine, it was an epiphany (a good story to tell one day I feel like an old man ;-) and still have not found something that has that subtlety yet grit... keep it, you'll thank me in 3 years time!
4. ok, I'm more looking for the iB modified. Good luck with the sale, and have another free bump!
5. I'm tempted by one of these, is it as new or was it mod'ed?
6.
Needs more 8x10
my back disagrees
7. I'm in the studio this week... check my little setup out: rest of the pictures here: http://www.facebook....98333.591238059 p
8.
They all have their own very distinct tones.
Indeed. This is why I keep the Eden WT-400 and the TC RH450 (though the latter is more for portability) and different cabs...
9. You should try the improved tone stack we did on mine ;-) Andrew is not a little proud! I might have to come to a bass bash now, or put videos online eventually... p
10. I wish I'd agree with you Edward... I've played with about every amp existing on earth... I'm a bit shy on EBS experience, only once... most of the rest of the icons at least 5+ times... and I certainly can hear a world between this and the Eden. But you know, I am a custom bass type of guy, so I am anal retentive ;-)
11. this is a good price, but Kent is so far from HD7 ;-) Good luck with the sale and have a free bump! p
12. bass bash are always far from here (and I don't have a car) so there is little chances... but I'll keep my eyes open!
13. Sorry, playin' in is from my French syntax... Big enough to make my 410 look small-ish... I haven't weighted it but I am certain it is around 40 lbs... as for the feeling, it is about the headroom. There is so much musical subtleties when you play undistorted... and when you fuzz it up, it still has a very fundamental so all notes (even in a chord) are very clear. just fantastic!
14. ok here is a bad-phone-camera-with-neon-light picture as I did not have my camera... and now I am far away from it travelling for job... more pictures next week! but the sound, the sound... revamped custom tone stack, different tube sets to allow more nuances of distortions (ECC81, 82 and 83 in the pre, and KT 88 in the power section), what a beast! I might do some demos later this month... anyway, here is the picture with my Eden wt-400, my eden 410XLT, my Berg 112 and Epifani UL-112. So many combinations of tone it is dangerous!
15. and I'm going to Matamp tomorrow to get my gt200... so excited!
16. ok tell me if you travel up North then...
17. I am sooooo tempted, would you ship?
18. just look at this guitar stack! The bass one is in red and black, a little more sober ;-)
19. OK just come back from the shop, where we did some measures on the tone stack... Andrew is a great guy to work with, it was fun! And I got the sparking blue 1224 for the uni, I'll post pictures soon...
20. ok last update: I've put a 250 audio for the tone with a 100pico cap and boom! I'm happy! I left the 500k linear on both volumes...
21. Dear all For those who want to see my dirtier side, here are the dates of my post-free-jazz-grungy bass+guit duet (with loads of processing) called de type inconnu. 05/05/2012 - The Edge, Birmingham, UK http://www.facebook.com/events/203644606404963/ 07/05/2012 - Servant Jazz Quarters, London, UK http://www.facebook.com/events/299260713487468/ 08/05/2012 - Karnatic Lab, De Badcuyp, Amsterdam, NL http://www.facebook.com/events/341959429200076/ 09/05/2012 - Le périscope, Lyon, FR http://www.facebook.com/events/367892766580814/ 11/05/2012 - Mons, BE http://www.facebook.com/events/238232416283719/ 20/05/2012 - Festival international de musique actuelle de Victoriaville, Québec, CA http://www.facebook.com/events/309399562462743/ You can pre-listen here: http://detypeinconnu.bandcamp.com/ More info on the duet here: http://detypeinconnu.com/ I hope to see you somewhere around there. And sorry for the cross-posting pa
22. If it is the one with the blue light, I have one and it activates all of the 6 strings without problem. I play 35 inches with d'addario 32 45 65 80 100 130 which is medium I think...
23. so yellow!
24. ok I've been to the shop again, experimenting with cabs (my Epifani 112 and Bergantino 112 and their 4x10, both neo and ceramic) and tone stack... and we are still waiting for the (huge heavy) transformers... and customising the tone stack too, as I am EQ-retentive ;-) I'll keep you posted
25. ok a couple of months later, now I had the 3 hours of luxury time to open the bass... and I used the cardboard-holding-the-pots to compare sounds and taper... 250k audio 500k audio 500k linear all cts with 2x Barto M4 quad coil with the double switching (serial-parallel and P-hb-revP) in Vol-Vol-Tone first conclusion: 500k gives more top even at full (which does not make sense to my little electronic knowledge as the pot is shorted completely in that situation but there was an obvious difference) second conclusion: the linear pot gives more musical taper (more smooth) than the exponential audio one, from full to 95% empty, then it is very steep. Again it does not make sense to my electronics limited knowledge (RC filters interact with the coil of the pickup to but I don't get it - I only get why the last 5% of the torque is very steep) So I put linear taper to both volume and the tone. For the latter, it makes it even more useless than the audio taper, but for both volume I get much more subtle useable adjustments. So I presume I'd like a linear for the 1st half, and exponential for the rest, but custom tapers are not really an option. I know that high end mixing desks do this so I presume this is where my bias comes from... my EMG active pickups with passive VVT is also so continuous and beautiful that I suspect there is a custom taper there too... Anyway, I've lost enough money/time with this, and since I use only the tone to both extremes I will be fine ;-)
