1. Up for sale is my Status S2 Classic 6 string Headless, It's in mint condition with Cocobolo facings and walnut back. It's bolt on with gold hardware. Come's with Status case and price is including P&P. For sale only, no trades. £1350 PRICE INCLUDES POSTAGE ANYWHERE IN EUROPEAN UNION
 2. OK, that's enough guy's Decent advice has been given, but folk have to understand that not everyone is comfortable fiddling with setting a bass up. Also, sound advice was given by folk who know their stuff, no need to sling it back at them No need for a slanging match though. Obsurd.
 3. i've got two 6ers a 5 and a 4 (see signature) my go to bass is the Status 6 headed because it feels right. I've had many 4 strings over the last few years but sold them because I wasn't using them as I prefered a 6. I'm keeping the Geddy though because it's the best jazz I've ever had, it's got Lindy Frailins in it and its brilliant. If I play a 4 I miss the bottom B, I've currently got the Dingwall 5er up for sale as for me now it's either a 4 or a 6. The next stage will be to fit a drop tuner on the Geddy just to add a bit more versatility to it.
 4.
Not wanting to hijack a good thread for those who do like the revival of old bands, I will bow out. I will pay to see Eric Clapton (67) every year until he gives up
Fair point, just me, got my t*at head on today. I'm out too..enjoy.
 5.
Yes, yes I am. I was in a band called 'The Projectors' in 1978. If I could reform them and live the glory days again I would
Your missing the point. I'm in my 50's myself. But some things are better left alone.........Paul McCartney anyone !!!
 6.
More glorious than old, I'd say. Anyway, short of an attack of straightforward ageism, I don't see why musicians shouldn't be allowed to take to the stage whatever their age. If 'old' upsets you then don't watch or listen.
Quite right. But I won't watch or listen
 7. Cashing in on a large scale....they took their time didn't they. Old men trying to re-live past glory's
 8.
you sure you cant post? maybe interested in a trade
Can post, but we'll need to talk about it. Still up for grabs
 9. For sale or trade is my Dingwall Combustion 5er. It is in superb condition except for a bit of paint missing from right next to the bridge strap button. It can't be seen with the bass on a stand, and it can't be seen when a strap is on the bass. Other than that it's unmarked. Bass will be shipped in a tatty but functional case. May trade for a 75 re issue MIJ Jazz, plus cash my way Trade value remains at £775 Now at straight sale price of £700 inc P&P...........which is a bargain for a bass like this. Specs: Dingwall Combustion 5 string Maple neck Blonde finish (see-through white white) Baltic Amber pickguard

It can't be seen with the bass on a stand, and it can't be seen when a strap is on the bass. Other than that it's unmarked. There is no case, so it's either collection, or we can meet up halfway. I'd prefer a straight sale, but may consider trades. 11. Just bought Vindi's 4U rack case. Really nice guy provided great hospitality when I called to collect it. Had a really nice chat about all things bass. Thoroughly recommended.
 12.
Mate we are the same on here! We'll watch an Asian transvestite, the wrong drummer, Neil Peart f***ing up an intro, but will we head over to the BC Recording section and listen to BCers' bands?
Actually Yes ! JaggyWiddit innit !
 13. Many a band will sell their soul just because of "record label interest" I imagine its an indie label, so the band will more than likely get screwed over by a contract so tight that the band never make any money anyway as it will all go to the record label. The best they can hope for is to play some half decent shows and maybe get an album out of it, so i shouldn't feel too bad about it It's nice to know who your mates are though isn't it
 14.
Still available?
No sorry, it was sold. It's now in Australia. Sorry for the confusion
 15. I'm looking for a working covers / function band based in Derby / Notts / Sheffield area. Very fast learner. Please PM me with any details
 16.
I'd agree with this, and also add that also businesses must move forward (and have a finite life). Seems to me as if the OP made the right decision at the right time. Good luck, John! best, bert
Bert, many thanks, it's appreciated. Ironic thing is, I went to play my last gig with them tonight only to find when I got there that we had been double booked, so no gig. The owner paid us £15 each in compo, so that's that. Shame really as they are teriffic folk, but no more I love rock and roll by Joan bloody Jett. Happy day's.
 17.
If it isn't working, then it isn't working, The worst bands are the ones that stick togther out of habit and comfort. If the band isn't moving forward in some small way, it is time for that band to cease...but then it is also a business to some so ...??? I think bands have a finite life but not many recognise this..or want to.
The singer and guitarist are married so the extra income comes in handy, for me it's more about the enjoyment and the music
 18. Well, I never thought I'd do it. But I've just quit my band. It's a 4 piece with a female vocalist. Not a bad little outfit really, nice bunch of people, but we've had no gigs for about six weeks and I've not missed it. We have one tonight which I'll do, but it will be the last. When it get's to the stage where you would rather stay at home than go out to play a gig, it's time to pack it up. I'm tired of the tunes we do, and trying to get them to change is like pulling teeth
 19.
I'm not Geddy, but here's more detail.
Flippin' ek. And here was me thinking it all came from his Fender and Orange amp. Silly me !
 20.
Not as much as if you'd walked up to a group of strangers in a pub and said what you did. It's never going to go down well. Look, friendly advice. We've all said daft things on here in our time. Just put your hands up to it and you'll get respect from your peers and we can all move on. Cheers Skank.
And as the day draws to the close on another hectic day in Basschatland, we can all learn from these wise words from the Skankmeister. Just give the new guy's a chance eh. It's not all it's cracked up to be being a Moderington, i should know, i've done it long enough. Think it's now time to let em get on with keeping basschat ticking over shipshape like. night night
 21. From my point of view it's good that we have had some more Mods to help out on the site. I spend a fair amount of time on here, and I have to say that at time's being a Mod ain't easy especially when a lot of stuff needs doing and the Mods visible on the site are a bit thin on the ground. We've all been there. There is no eliteism from any of us, or any abuse of additional privilages, just remember that this is unpaid, we do it because we want to. I'd also like to pass on my thanks to Urb and Mythste for modding for so long, i can fully understand why they have decided to take a break. Anyway's onwards and forwards as they say.
