1.
That reminds me ......,, I also owned a Warwick streamer 4 fretless And played my friends Warwick streamer stage 1 , six string bass
Chris, I take it the Warwick 6er is the one I ended up owning, it's a cracking bass. I'd also consider a Status S2, I've drove myself mad trying to get the perfect bass and always ended up going back to Status S2's, I love em. I get my Status Empathy 5er next week, it's a cracker, superb sound. I also got a compliment on the tone of my S2 6er on Friday from a fellow basschatter who saw us, I didn't get his name though as the band were waiting for me to start the second set, but if a basschatter compliments on the tone of an S2 it can't be bad can it. I'd also like to try a Dingwall, but I'm very happy with my current basses and can't see me selling any of them
2. For me without a doubt it was Glenn Hughes during his time with Deep Purple. At the time when I got into Purple they had just realeased Come Taste the Band, and were just about to implode. It was one of those great times when someone gets you into a band and you buy their back catalogue. There's no doubt Roger Glover is an exceptional player, but Glenn's funky style just clicked with me. And nade me think the bass is for me. One other guy who deserves some credit at the time is Pete Surgey who is bass player with NWOBHM band Witchfynde. I had got to know Pete and we started to hang out together. He had a Aria SB900 in Witchfynde at the time, I went to his house and he showed me how to play a few bass lines and then took me to Carlsboro Sound in Mansfield and got me set up with a Jazz copy a whacking great bass bin and a Peavey amp. There was no poxy practice amp for me it was straight in with a full gig rig.
3.
HI There, Can you tell me the depth?
Its 34cms with the lids off, 51cms with lids on
4. 4U rack unit for sale £45 plus P&P
5. Its incredible that this happened and very stupid. Mind you I once went on the Ernie Ball forum and asked why my Stingray had so many dead spots. Big Boppa/Poppa or whatever his user name is was straight down my throat within a millisecond of me posting the thread telling me to take it up via a dealer. It didn't help when I told him my local dealer was crap and that was why I was posting on the forum to seek help as his Stingray was unplayable.
6. Playing at a private party Jubilee do this afternoon, quite looking forward to it, it's at some rich bloke mega pad apparently. Hope the rain holds off.
7.
Saw this pic via FB the other day, will look forward to reading the interview. Anyone heard if BCC are touring this year? Joe Bonamassa has just finished a run of 54 dates so he's now (possibly) free although GH has mentioned BCC recording their third album so that's sounding more likely.
I don't think BCC have any touring plans this year, although Glenn has been writing for the new Album. I just wish Glenn would get his finger out and do another solo album, it's been ages since he did F.U.N.K.
8. Great photo of Glenn Hughes and Andy Fraser, two great bass players. They have just interviewed each other for Bass Player Magazine. Should be a great article.
9. FOR SALE Musicman Bongo 5 HH in lovely desert gold finish. It's got a bit of damage which I've tried to show in the pictures: there is an approximately 1.5 inch chip in the lacquer above the bridge end strap button (I got it in this condition, I assume it was dropped) The chip gets covered by the strap when playing and also can't be seen when the bass is on a stand. Also has one or two light dinks on the headstock. The Musicman fitted hard case is included, this has 'Macs Music' painted on it. Include's a set of brand new Dunlop Dual Design straplocks. Just been set up plays really nicely, looks stunning and sounds immense. The Bongo features:

Basswood body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard
Dual neodymium humbuckers
4-band 18V EQ
24 frets
I'm up to 5 basses now so this has to go. May trade for another bass of lower value with £ my way, not interested in similar value trades . Price is £750 including P&P but willing to haggle.
10. I can't believe this hasn't gone, it's the bargain of the year so far. I had the thru neck version of this and it was brilliant, easily better than other basses I've owned that cost four times as much.
11. I've just done a trade deal with David with my Sandberg for his Geddy Jazz plus cash. Comms have been superb and the bass arrived yesterday exceedingly well packed and exactly as described. Don't let the fact he's in Hungary put you off, he's 100% reliable and I'd have no problem dealing with him again.
12. I've got to say I'm more or less GAS free for the first time in ages. I've 2 new basses on the way to add to the others, and my rig set up is superb. BUT, the Basses for Sale section is my Nemesis. I tell myself that being as I'm a mod I have to go there to check stuff out, well, that's my excuse anyways.
13. Shell, here's the hugs to start with. I can guarantee that you will be a lot better bass player than you think you are. Be good to maybe sit down and give yourself something to aim for to get playing. Like within a month I'm gonna play at a open mike night, within three months I'm gonna place an ad for bass player available etc. We play in Derbyshire mostly, about an hour away from you I guess. you're welcome to come and dep for me on a couple of tunes at one of our gigs. Nice easy stuff AC/DC or Dakota for example.
14. No longer a feeler, this is now for sale.
15. I think that you can only call yourself "expert" if you are at virtuoso status on 4, 5, 6 string fretted and fretless and upright. So that's nobody then.
16. OK lets cut out the internet hardman stuff. Threats to other members will not be tollerated. Starless, you have a PM.
17.
OMG, thats a stunner, free bump. Just out of curiosity whats the weight like on this?
Weight is about 4.5 kg
18. I have this Sandberg California 4 string up for grabs, may trade for a 5 string. Preferably another Sandberg. 2 band EQ, with active/passive option. We're back...

Terrific work by Ben Kiwi, top job. At least it kept me away from the basses for sale section for a night.
