1. Oh this is nice, how gratious of our lovable government to consider such a thing. At a 88 mile a day commute it mean's at the estimated £1.30 a mile it will cost me £114 a day to get to work. I'd like to meet the government monkey who thought this up and punch him full in the gob. I have a very small but nice house in a sunnier climate. If they bring this in, I'm off. And yes, I am serious.
2.
The demo? Errr, not sure I know anything about that....
Awww com on. They must have told you that they are looking for manager or waiting for the right line up before they have the photo's taken for the posters, providing the guitarist isn't too busy. To be honest, a band I was once in cancelled a gig because the drummers dog was about to give birth.
3.
The Friday gig was cancelled because the guitarist couldn't make it.
Say's it all really
4. Welcome to the forum. My Dad was from Crook, my half brother lives in Ferryhill. Have a great time here.
5. Gutted to wake up to this, what crap news. RIP Duck
6.
Update: I went to the audition last night. From the band's setlist, I had 11 songs prepared, 4 of which I'd learned from scratch. It turned out that it was only the second time that the band in its current line up had played together. The setlist I'd been sent related to the previous band's line-up, was way out of date and was going to be completely changed anyway. We ran through 6 of the songs and it was all pretty rough and ready, unsurprisingly. The band definitely has the potential to be a decent pub/club band. I'm not convinced about corporate functions and weddings, but who knows. I left because they were due to see another bassist, with 4 more being seen in 3 days time. I don't think the band had painted a true picture of the current situation. Actually, I wouldn't have been put off by knowing that they'd only just got together. I needn't have prepared so many songs. Don't mind if I get asked to join. Don't mind if I don't. Steve
Why am I not surprised. I half expected something like this, I've had similaar stuff myself.

8.
Is this Ziggy's old bass matey?
Yes mate. I now have a trade pending
9.
Cant tell if that is sarcasm, probably isn't since you are a global mod... Nice bass that!
Being a mod has nothing to do with it. It's common decency to reply to PM's. I just find it tedious that the minute a mod has an opinion of any sort that don't quite ring true. Somebody has got to be on their back. Great, and yes it is sarcarm. I need a break from this
10. Great, thanks for replying to my PM
11. My wife is a qualified K.O.R.E. therapy consultant, she's also qualified in clinical acupuncture. She's just about to set up her own clinic which is great. She's been using our converted conservatory as her clinic for the last few months. Some of the people she has helped and some of the conditions she has helped treat has been incredible. A lot of her patents have been going to chiropractors with very little sucess, but she's got em fixed. She's also now done advanced K.O.R.E. which is more sports orientated and is used by a few Premiership Clubs, as well as a few countries Olympic atheletes. She also has the chance to attend the Olympics as a therapist, so it's all good stuff.
12. Sventano 5 string bass, superb built quality and hardware, up for trade as I have "Ray" GAS. Prefer 5 String Stingray, but 4's considered. I'll also consider other basses 4,5 or 6 string. If someone wants to buy it, it's £900 inc P&P o.v.n.o. Also I have no problem shipping to Europe. 14. I've been asked to learn up to 10 songs for auditions before now and then turned up and been asked what songs they asked me to learn. Or the guitarist didn't know the tunes himself that I'd been asked to learn "because we haven't played together for 2 months" so, said I, "You had 2 months to learn them then" You can put a lot of time and effort in to turn up to and audition to find that maybe you're the only one who has a clue.
15.
Why did the drummer have to put a bass part down
Cause the Drummer was at the wrong gig.
16. This bass is exactly the same as mine, they are awesome basses, great tone's and build quality. Have a Bump
17. I've done a lot of business with them and found them brilliant every time. I get all my strings from them now.
18. I really like the sound of the new stuff. Be great if they turned back time though and did some 30 minute epic again same as 2112 or Hemispheres. Had Hemispheres on today, it's still brilliant.
19. I swap and change basses all the time, so they are used to me turning up with a different one every week, so I think they've given up. The one thing they do like though is my Ashdown rig, I'm under pain of death if i sell it
20. You need to be more specific on you price, offers over £150 isn't specific enough.
