1. Sold my gator rack case to Dan. Absolute pleasure to do business with.
2. These pair. I must have been insane. I don't even like thinking about it. Oh the pain.
3. Photo of our front lady Karen with our band The Fallen. Her voice is incredibly powerful. She's married to our guitarist Phil.
4. The amp was sold a while ago, the thread did have sold on the title.
5. I’m going to try to put together a web site for the band. I already have the domain name and the hosting set up, but I’m trying to find a decent free template to use for the site. I’ve had a look at some through a google search but there are a few that want you to use their hosting as well, which I don’t want to do. Has anybody used any decent template site that they could recommend?
6.
So what you've done is got Usain Bolt and Scarlet Johannson together and forced them to have babies in a bid to create the ultimate human being, just with basses and not said humans? o.O
Er, kind off. We'll soon see, I'm due to get it back from Jon Shuker at the weekend.
7.
Last time I heard from Rich OTPJ he had been having some personal problems but was physically fine, just very busy playing to make a living like the rest of us. Status still making replacement necks and as Chris says, give Dawn a phone.
I saw Rich about 8 weeks ago. I bought one of his Status' off him. He's fine, just very busy and had a few issues to deal with. But he's OK. And I've just bought a Status neck for my Marcus Miller Jazz !
8.
Completely agree. Any credible, professional standard instrument is good enough.
That rules out Fenders then.
9. Up for sale is my Gator 4U shallow rack case. It's in about 8 out of 10 condition. I'd post photo's but I imagine your all familiar with these. I'm after £50 plus postage.
10. Took the neck and body to Jon Shuker today, I've also asked him to put a drop tuner on it. Looks like it will also be Schaller tuners, and Status Hotwire medium gauge strings. Get it back in about 2 weeks time.
11.
Also.....Anthony Kiedis's moustache?
He looks like the keyboard player out of Sparks
12. I always get lost for words when trying to talk about Phil. He was a great inspiration to me when I was starting out on bass. Also when I used to go and see Lizzy live, when I saw Phil, it was just like seeing an old mate again. I also saw him with Grand Slam a few times. I was gutted when he died. R.I.P.
13. I've just bought a Status Jazz neck for my Marcus Miller Jazz body that I picked up. The whole shebang is going up to Jon Shuker as I'm not risking trying to fit it myself. The neck is incredibly light, should sound the dogs once its finished.
14. I'd be up for it again. The Fiveways should be OK to use for this one. It was Ok last year.
15.
If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pick your status neck up for?
Just under £300
16. Status neck arrived yesterday, very nice too. I'll try to get mock up photo's up later today. It will be off to Jon Shukers at the weekend to be put together.
17. I had both my hands cramp up within a minute of each other at a gig the other week. It was near the end of the set but they went just as I was going to launch into a bass solo. Needless to say I couldn't play it and it was very embarrassing. I wear my bass quite high up and have always used my fingers rather than a pick, I always seemed to rest my wrist over the edge of the basses body at a strange angle on my plucking hand, since the problem I've looked at my technique in more detail. I've straightened my plucking hand out, and I also found I was using excess pressure on the strings on my fretting hand, so I've relaxed that as well. I've also practised a lot more, as I got into the habit of only playing when we had a gig or rehearsal, and that's helped as well.
18. I very rarely play a 4 string any more. It's mainly 6ers now, mainly my Status S2. Were a 4 piece band with one guitar, so the 6 lets me be a bit more extravagant in places to fill out the sound a bit. I ain't no fretmelt merchant, but it suits me. So I don't really give a toss what others say. To be honest I could get away with a 5, but I've always hankered after an S2 6er through neck with all the bells and whistles (led's front and side) and now I've got one I can't see the point in it sitting in it's case. One of the punters commented that the LED's "looked cool" through the dry ice last night apparently, we headlined a charity gig. Besides, it seems to be a good talking point for the band as a lot of the punters don't see many 6ers. Personally, I'd tell your singer to get stuffed. I agree with Johnson, just buy it.
19.
Hi John, thanks for the welcome. Nice to see you on here. John actually became a drummer for my current band! but he left 2 or 3 weeks ago and i've not seen or spoke to him since the back end of June when we played a gig at Colwyn Bay FC. Chris came to watch us play a few months ago but i've not seen him since and to be honest we never saw much of each other even when I was in the WA tribute band. If I do see either of them i'll pass your wishes on. Just out of curiosity what are you doing now band-wise? and didn't you join MTWA forum? are you still on that?
I'm in a band called the Fallen. It's a female fronted covers band. Were out gigging regular, which is something I could never see with the AW tribute. I was on both WA web forums, both Andy's and Martin's, but grew tired of all the bickering between the two sets of fans.
20. Welcome to the forum. I was in the same Wishbone Ash tribute band after you left. If you see John or Chris please say hi from me, not seen them in ages.
21.
Just where it should be. LOL
Snazz I'll close this one and let the other thread run.
