1. Got to say I was impressed by simon1964's black Ricky with black scraptchplate and black truss rod cover. Seriously cool. mcgrahams Wood and Tronics basses were superb, a sweeter tone you will never hear, they were brilliant, and this was through the Barefaces midget, which in itself was astonishing for such a wee thing.
 2. OK guy's lets stop having a pop at George and let him sell his bass in peace. It don't look that bad to be honest.
 3. I've moved the thread out of Basses for Sale, so the basses that are actually for sale can get to the top of of the forum and be sold, or not, as the case may be.
 4.
I first saw Janek doing a Bass Player Live clinic on YouTube with the late Hiram Bullock. I thought his groove was amazing. I love the muted sound he gets with his thumb. Having met him in person I can honestly say that he's a lovely guy, who works hard, and believes in himself and his art. A true musician. I've read through most of the thread that BBC was involved in, and I was disgusted. To reiterate what other members said: We should be honoured that a player of his stature and experience be a part of this forum. Imagine the advice he would have given for nothing, just like Joe Hubbard has?
I kind of have a dream about what it would be like if the likes of Mark King, Geddy, Flea, Janek etc etc were forum members on here and we could all enjoy the banter with these great players. But it's not going to happen is it, because all that will happen is they will get flamed the same as what happened to Janek. I can't see the point in posting negative nonsense when the OP's of these threads gets a kick out of listening to (insert your favorite bass players name here) music. If it don't float yer boat, then fine. But there's no point carping on about it is there. I was a mod when BBC was banned. There was no bait and no trap. He hung himself ten fold before he was banned, he was given enough slack on many an occasion. In my dealings with him I could have recommended a ban way before it actually happened but I didn't. Anyway's, enough of the BBC. Subject closed. Back on topic please.
 5. Will be there with both of my Jazz basses. Won't be able to bring the rig though. Looking forward to seeing everybody.
 6. I've made one or two serious offers on basses for sale on here over the last few weeks and had them turned down over a few quid. Money's been in the bank, and I've been happy to travel long distances to pick them up, but when you take into account the cost of fuel if the seller won't barter, it makes buying the bass too expensive. I won't buy unseen, been stung once to often.
 7.
bump, Will accept £450 for this now, need some money.
Should have taken it when I offered to buy last week.
 8.
I listen to the song a fair few times first, to let the melody, changes, format etc sink in. Then I learn the basic chord changes and put in the twiddly bits afterwards. Works for me.
What Pete said. If the tune is away from concert pitch I use best practice to tweek it and then learn the tune. I also use best practice's repeat function to repeat fiddly bits until I get them. I don't read music or tab, Never had need to.
 9. I did actually drive into Nottingham to try to organise this but was unable to find a venue, spent a whole afternoon driving about with no luck. "sorry were fully booked at weekends for weddings" was the normal reply.
 10. Bass now sold pending the usual.

 12.
Good looking... What's the scale length? 34" or 35" visog
I have no idea how to measure it, drop me a PM please on how to do it and I'll drop a tape on it.

 15.
But what happened to the last thread?
Chris, the last thread was pulled because of unofficial advertising. I was asked to pull it. I'm away on holiday at the moment in London and logged on via internet cafe and being as a few other mods have contributed to this one I guess it's OK to run. Sorry if it's caused a bit of confusion.
 16.
Ah, you know that story, too. 'Tis a sad tale. A bit naughty on Warwick's part, methinks. Still, I have bought a Status to compensate for the Warwicks I own... And GAS dictates that another will follow!
I had the good fortune to play one of Entwhisle's Status Buzzards at the Status factory. Rob Green was going to deliver it to John the next day. They looked just awesome in that graphite weave.
 17. Warwick's. Just can't get myself to forgive them for making Status break the moulds for the awesome Status Entwhistle Buzzard.
 18. This has got to be my dream bass of all time. I'm going to find a quiet corner to have a sulk and a cry
 19. If it's for sale, you will have to list an asking price in the thead. Forum Rule's.
 20.
I'd definitely go see BCC if they played reasonably close to me when they finally tour. Probably catch Glenn's solo tour next month.
+1 for BCC. Also off to see Glenn next month at Nottingham.
