I think the point that is being lost here is that Mr King, if you like him or not did do a lot to bring bass playing to the masses. I think you have to have been around at the time of Level 42's heyday to appreciate that. I was and I did ! Also by the same token, Flea attracted a lot of kids to taking up bass as an instrument. So, can we agree that neither is better than the other,cause this is getting a bit tedious to say the least. God, I only hope nobody stars another Wooten or Manring thread.

I've run Hartke gear for years, HA3500 head, 1x15XL and 2.5XL. Its never let me down or failed to deliver. I can't see the point of thinking about swapping it as it does all I ask of it. It's brilliant.

If someone can find out dates the room is free that would do it. It would save me a 20 mile trek into Notts. I'm quite happy to get things moving after that. Then we can get a list of names who are interested. Once we get a date I can pin the topic at the top of General Bass Disscusion.

I've spent most of the afternoon trying to find a suitable venue for this bash. So far most pubs are booked up in July and August. I did try the Festival at Trowell before I decided to head home. He wanted £150 for their small function room and only had it free on the 15th of August. If anyone knows of anywhere suitable and can get a few dates that's free it would be good.

I agree with the OP. I don't get it either. I've run my Hartke HA350 through Hartke 1x15 and 2x10.5 XL cabs for the last 8 years and they have been brilliant, never missed a beat, I have, but the gear hasn't. I've only just started thinking about changing the 1x15 XL for a 2x15XL to get a bit more umph. I'll still run the 2x10.5 on top though
