Ill see if I can the link to the website for you...
+1 for the tipex. It works OK and comes off OK as well.
2. OK folks, the bass is now back up for sale, or trade for a nice 5er or a Marcus Miller Jazz with cash my way.
3. I'm unable to make it guys. The car is still broken down. I was hoping to get it back yesterday but it won't be till Monday now. Really miffed about it because I was looking forward to this bash. Have a great day y'all.
4. I've got numerous stuff signed by Glenn Hughes. I've got a plectrum that he gave me when I met him in Brazil after a gig, got a photo with him from that gig as well, and signed CD's. I've mentioned it before, but about 2 months after me and the wife met him in Brazil, we moved back to the UK and saw his show at Dudley with Joe Lynn Turner, we met him afterwards and he instantly recognised us from the show in Brazil, made my night it did. Met him again a few months ago and he signed my MIJ Fender Jazz. He asked me if it was "his" bass, I don't know if he expected me to give it to him of what, but I just said "er, no, can you sign it for me please" What kind of spoilt it though was some cretin who said " that will turn up on e bay next week" so I kind of quietly turned on him and told him what I though of his stoopid remark.
5.
It's a true beauty you have here! I might be interested - but the problem is (since you don't want to send it - which can understand somehow): I'm located in Austria. Any chance? Mario
Hi Mario I can look into it, but you would have to pay the courier cost and also it would be at your risk. John
6. Chaka Khan to drool at every gig or Al Di Meola whan he was doing all the super quick electric stuff
7. This is staying for sale until the weekend. If I don't get any offers by then, I'm gonna withdraw it.
8. I've kind of steared clear of this thread for a bit because I'm pretty much furious about recent events, well the last year to be precise. I've just spent the best part of six months rehearsing with a Wishbone Ash Tribute Band, that to be honest was turning out to be very, very good. Then, just as we are about ready to gig one of the guitarists packs up because he does not have time for it (he's in two other bands) It's no good getting another guitard, because the stuff is very technical and the other guitarist says its going to be too hard. So, that's it then. To be fair, the pair of them are pretty decent guy's. I wouldn't mind, but even he says the other 2 bands are crap, campared to what we were doing ! Prior to that, the last 3 bands I was in before that packed up for similar reasons after about a month each. So I'm sat on about 4 grands worth of Basses and backline, and just wondering if I have the will to carry on with it, as I'm sick to the back teeth of being messed about. About 15 years ago I went through a similar phase and sold all my stuff ( Jaydee Mark King and Trace Elliot AH250, 4x10 and 1x15 cabs) and regretted it. Why oh why can't people get it into their heads that if they wan't to be in a band they will have to commit time to rehearse and have commitment to see it through. Anyway, one more time, adds placed everywhere trying to find a decent band.
9. If its a Mark King signature, I had one exactly the same as this and like a pillock sold it
10. I'm after a decent covers band in the Notts / Derbys area. Good gear, good attitude, very fast learner of toons. Please PM if you have anything.
11. The first time I met Glenn Hughes, I went into starstuck git mode and actually told him it was his "fault" that I took up playing bass. I could have died afterwards. This was when I was living in Brazil. I went to see him at a gig in Sao Paulo with my wife. The second time I met him was back in the UK about six months later, and guess what, he recognised me. He said "hey, I remember you, I met you in Brazil" I thought how cool is that, my hero remembers me. At this point I said sorry for what I'd said when I'd met him before, and we had a bit of a laugh about it. Great guy is Glenn, always a complete gentleman whenever I have seen him.
12. Drat, Drat, Drat, Drat, and thrice more Drat.
13.
Mind me asking the string spacing?
I think it has a standard 18mm string spacing. I say "think" because I never really understand how to measure it, I just play em'
14. I'm selling my Status S2 6 string headless. It was built for me by Status as a special order. It's about a year old. It has a cocobolo top and gold hardware which are non standard extra items. I already have Shuker 6er and another on the way, so this one has to go. I will be happy to deliver if the distance is not too great, or meet half way. The bass comes with a Status hard case. Price is £1100 inc delivery to UK mainland. But prefer to deliver or meet halfway. May trade for a nice 5er, or a Marcus Miller Jazz, with cash my way. 15. If I sell a bass on here I always include a price. I agree with Deaver though that you will always get a totally unrealistic offer from some body. Nothing wrong with that I suppose as long as they can accept a very firm no!
16. After a lot of thought I've decided to get Jon Shuker to make me another 6 string. This time it will be headed though. To be honest I've been that happy with the last one he made me it was a no brainer when it came to decide on who would make this one. I went to see Jon last Saturday and gave him a basic spec as to what I was after, and he has now given me a quote, and I'm going to go with it. It will have a shorter top horn than a standard Shuker, and also an Alembic type pointy bit at the bottom of the body. I'm undecided on whether to have a standard shape Shuker head or a Alembic-Pangborn type pointy head. The body top and head will be Cocobolo finished in Jon's famous see your face in it high gloss laquer. Here is the basic spec and a couple of photos on what the body and head may look like. 6 string through neck 5 piece laminated neck (maple/purpleheart) rosewood f/board > 2x two way truss rods 4x carbon fibre reinforcement face dots, mother of pearl or maybe some simple inlay red led side markers cocobolo headstock veneer medium or jumbo fretwire brass nut black walnut body cocobolo drop top white sycamore veneer between top and body polyester basecoat wet look gloss topcoat individual bridge units gold hardware gold tuners (possibly gotoh or hipshot ultralite) black knobs EMG sized pickup routs Seymour Duncan ASB2 , custom wind or EMG;s shuker 3 band eq
17.
see any other interesting basses?
The 4 string Uberhorn here http://www.shukerguitars.co.uk/stock.htm was very nice.
18.
These just in. Oh. My. God.
I was at Jon's this morning to see him about my new build, I saw your bass in the flesh. It looks awesome, your gonna love it.
19.
Anyone ? Cool forum btw.
Here is a link to a bass the same as yours that was sold in the forums Basses for Sale section. Might give you some idea as to what yours is worth. 20.
Is that just the number on Status' contact page? Gave it a call earlier but everyone must have gone home. I don't want to have to wait the whole weekend before I can fix it.. argh  I guess I'll just have to be patient.
Best be patient that cock it up !
21. To be honest I'd give Rob a call at Status, he's very good at helping with this sort of thing.
