1.
Rhonda Smith can play a bit... She did some gigs with a guy called Prince. I think he pays better wages than a Saturday night at the Red Lion. Garry
2.
I'm pretty sure those basses are active - have you changed the battery?
Could be batterys, but usually when they go, they go very quickly. The batterys on my active basses normally sound a little fuzzy and then more or less 20 minutes playing time later they are flat.
  3.
D'you really think that took balls? And is that the REAL reason you renewed your sub? You strike me as a very generous person.
Generous to the core me. Some people would have not bothered to get involved with the thread, but Stu did. End Of.
  4. Well, my subscription recently ran out and I decided not to renew it. But being as Stuart Clayton has had the balls to come on the thread and join the debate, I'm going to cut them some slack , I'm going to renew it again. How's that then ! Any plans to interview Glenn Hughes Stuart ?
  5. Stunning Dood my friend, can't wait to see the photo's in the sun. Be good to get photo's of Baby Doodle, Blondie and CK''s headless together as well. Looks like Jon's done it again. He never fails. Superb. Just noticed the LEDs. Love em !
  6.
Status basses used to be fashionable? I remember a kid at my school got a Status Empathy when they came out, that must've been 1989-90-ish, and they were even naff then.
Steady now !
  7. Everywhere I play my S2 people always comment on how good it sounds. I've had at least one Status in my arsenal for the last 10 years. I can never see me being without one, they are so good.
  8. You can't argue with the talent that she has, thats for sure. Terrific player, nothing much new though. It just seems like a guitar player turned to bass, and then, guess what. Bass Hero !
  9. I've just joined a Wishbone Ash Tribute band. So I've got about 30 Ash tunes to learn. That should keep me busy for a while.
  10. One thing not to do is forget the pan in on the cooker with the strings in and let it boil dry, like I did once. Missus not happy about ruined pan. Had to buy another, been cheaper to have bought new strings ! What are we having for dinner - Status Hotwires in bolognese sauce, yumyum.
  11.
Problem was they are all way into the rockier side, whilst I mean to be funky always.
Your names not Glenn Hughes is it !
  12. Hi Ian And welcome, I run Hartke gear myself, its brilliant. Have a great time here.
  13.
I was wondering the same. I love the look of the S2 Classic, but have never had the opportunity to try one. I'm assuming the best way to find out is to go down to the factory? Is there a showroom or the like?
I've had 5 Status basses in the past, and currently own a S2 Classic 6 string headless. Built quality is excellent, and I've found that I can get just about any sound I want out of the 6er. If you phone Status beforehand I don't think that there is a problem for you to visit. There is no showroom as such, but Rob always has plenty of basses in his final inspection- set up room for you to try. I can't recommend them enough, all of mine except one were bought brand new from the factory
  14.
ello everybody ... ! send u peace from the swiss alps, let me know if u wanna visit one day ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4SMUD_Tr9Y aloaaaaaaaaaaaaa Basssotti
Hi Basssotti and welcome to the forum, hope you have a great time here. I'm going to move your thread into the introductions forum if thats OK.

    Drummers
All of the above, at various times ..
You know what, that just about sums it up. The fastest way, guaranteed, to get my drummer mate wound up is to tell him his timing is off, its hilarious. As a bass player, its amazing how much better you play if you have a good drummer to lock into.
  16. I had an SB years ago, it was a SB600 I think. It always sounded great. A friend of mine had a SB900 that he used to lend me. He played in the N.W.O.B.H.M. band Witchfynde, still does I think. I'd love to get hold of a SB900, great bass.
  17. I've kind of got this problem. Just finding it hard to get in a decent band. I'm also tired of getting together with muso's who like the idea of being in a band but can't be bothered to learn the tunes so they sound OK when you get together for rehearsal. Very frustrating.
  18.
Its a performance, its a show, its ROCK 'N' ROLL! its amazing to watch!
+1 got to agree with you Zoe. Last time I saw Billy he was playing with Vai. They did the "lets play each others guitars" trick that they do, crap description, but you know what I'm on about. Truly amazing to watch.
  19. Billy is one of only 3 "name" bassplayers that have bothered to answer e mails I sent them, the other 2 were Glenn Hughes and Tony Franklin. Diamond Geezers!
  20.
In the true spirit of the thread... Mo Foster Awesome work on Scott Walker's "Climate of Hunter". And he's British too!
Big +1 for Mo Foster, he's brilliant. Check out his solo albums some terrific fretless playing
  21. Just love watching Billy play, great technique and unique sound.
  22. I "am" going to sit down and learn YYZ by Rush if it kills me, I've been meaning to do it for ages and being as the latest band project has crumbled before its really begun, and I'm doing nothing else, now is the time.
