I should have been visiting Jons tomorrow (Friday) to see the bass, but obviously, I've cancelled the visit. Jon has told me that the workshop has been dried out, but he is expecting the worst as another deluge has been forecast for this weekend. He's not moving anything back in until he gets the all clear. Its set my build back a week, but so what, only 3 weeks now until she's done !

Great news, just come off the phone with Jon, the Bass will be ready in 3 weeks time. Its going to be bad now, so close yet so far !

I have always thought that the Squire Jazz is an excellent beginner Bass. Whatever you get though, make sure its set up right

I can't wait for the ban to come into effect in England. I don't mind people smoking at all, as long as they try to keep it to themselves. But I'm tired of playing every weekend and coming home and having me and all my gear stink of fags, including my speaker cabs and even the bloody guitar strap. Plus our vocalist even puffs on cigars during set up and sound check, which is even worse !

I went on holiday, came back, and the build had come on leaps and bounds. The build thread has not been as detailed as I had hoped. So I recon the next lot of photos will be when its done. This thread was started on Bassworld, continued on Basstalk and is now on here ! The spec is Bassically this (no pun) 6 string headless Quilted maple top in high gloss finish ( Jon says the finish will be that good it will seem you can put your hand in it ! ) 5 piece maple thru neck with maple birdeye fingerboard. White ash body. Black veneer between top and body and neck and body sides. Black AMB Headless system with monorail tuners. EMG 45P and 45 TW Pups Shuker 3 band board Red Side LEDS As for the scale, I'm taking in my Status Eclipse Graphite neck six string for John to base the neck on that, don't ask me the scale as I havent got a clue, I only play it ! I'm in no great hurry to have it finished, I've just told Jon to take his time with it.
