Si I've submitted mine via email, let me know if you've not received it I think I compromised a bit. Basically I tried a few different sounds but then got utterly sick of the song. Why is it that a lot of country singers sound almost auto-tuned? Are they way more accurate with pitch than singers of other genres?

that's interesting, I used a sidechained gate for the first time ever on this. It works pretty well! I've only ever used sidechained compressors before.

I think the roger linn box in the effects for sale forum might be what you're after!?

It seems to me that there must have been a lot of processing on the way in to the box on this one, so I don't have much to do. Turn everything up and it sounds good! The snare did seem very compressed though, or maybe it's just badly tuned, I really don't like the sound of it and it's taken me ages of messing about to get a sound with a bit of "crack".

I have it on K-14C and the level meter on the right hand side isn't going above 0, is that right? If so I'm pretty much done, just need to reference it on some other systems.

Trust your ears Kev, if it sounds right, it is right. I would recommend you record some stuff yourself and listen back on a good system or headphones, just to double check.

If I was watching a band and they stopped mid-song to start again 'cos of a mistake, I'd think it was laughable. It would ruin the gig.

arrrgh, I need to get my act together. I've only done my standard tidying up so far (group tracks etc) no "mixing" done yet at all.

Guitar, as it's what I write my songs on. I can program drums and bass. I'd have a lot less gigs though! I only seem to be able to get gigs playing drums these days :-/

Why do you want to change your set up? What are the limitations you're hitting?

I did 10 minutes on this last night. Very interesting way to record the kick drum and it sounds fantastic!

well, I play in a reggae/hip-hop type band. I have plenty of stems of them if you want them. Nothing country though! I was hoping for something very different to my usual material so that I could join in with a mix this month.

I used to drop tune and use a capo for certain songs which meant I didn't have to swap basses.

the Rogers look to me out of my league! Well I have done extensive listening in my current room with that set up, and I'm happy with how my mixes translate these days... when I move to my new room, maybe I should just take my current system, get used to the room, and then see if I still fancy new monitors

Equator D5s do seem to have a good repuation online, but is it all initial hype? How long have they been around? They're right at the top of my budget, I'd have to save for a couple of months for those.

I had a listen to KRK RP5s last night... sounds pretty good! For some reason I'd been skipping over the Alesis stuff on Ebay. I obviously have a subconscious prejudice about the brand. I'll check them out
