1. Bought some leads from Alex, no complaints at all, top bloke.
2. I just prefer to use one instrument, so if I want a synthy sound I use pedals to approximate it. I use a lot of pedals anyway so taking a synth along would just take up more room.
3. IMO it's easier to get a jazz to cut through. i guess it depends on the style of the music

PSU Help?

I run my ODB-3 on a daisy chain and it's not noisy. Do you have the gain control any higher than 9 o'clock?
5. parsnips tend to have a more flowery texture than carrots in my opinion. They're also a lot less versatile. Carrots win hands down.
6.
Of course it is - it's what a music lover should be saying, but - and there's always some one with a "but" - you then get the retort that "you can't compromise with facts/science, there has to be a "best" and I'm not stopping until......." etc. & the whole band starts circling the wagons again.
No one has said you'd be wrong for preferring vinyl. The discussion has revolved around the relative merits of either medium in terms of scientific facts. You're obviously not interested in that discussion, and that's perfectly fine. I don't see the problem? EDIT: Also, like Si, i've had my mind changed on this forum, and I'm much better educated from reading these in depth discussions
7.
I'd also be pointing out that if he was so good, how come his band haven't played Wembley yet?
Obviously picking the wrong songs to cover in the pub
8. Sound perception is very interesting and subject to all sorts of physiological and psychological factors, which is why those interested like to look at the science of the matter, rather than just comparing preferences. Those studying colour-blindness and colour perception in general will also be more interested in actual scientific facts, rather than subjective opinion.
9. I can't beleive this thread is still going, and people are still attempting to argue with facts! Fair enough if you like the qualities of vinyl, but you can't say that it's inherently "higher quality" than CD, unless of course you want to ignore all the science.
10. any bastard doing covers at Wembley deserves to cop some sh*t. (joke )
11.
definition of a lowballer...
Is defined by the lowly-balled, surely!
12. 12 pages of nothing but bullshit and i've still not sold my opinion. If you want it just make an offer. FFS the worst that can happen is I say no
13. If I have to respect the opinion that a low ball offer is offensive, don't I also have to respect the opinion of the low-ball-offerer? So his offer is both to be respected, and offensive?
14. yeh, 1A, it says it'll do 10 pedals but it wouldn't do 10 of mine!
15.
Powered by a Dr Tone PSU10 Power Supply.
I've been all over google trying to find out how much current this PSU supplies. I can't find it anywhere, could you have a look on the back?
16. I bought some newtones strings recently. when they arrived the C string snapped straight away. I sent an email explainign I realised it could have been my bridge or something, but could they sell me another one ASAP as I couldn't wait for the normal lead time. They wound me a new one with a thicker core to make sure it wouldn't break and sent it out FOC. Very impressed!!!
17. I don't find them very easy to move with the mouse actually. I always use CTRL+Numpad0 to set the left locator at the cursor point, and CTRL+Numpad1 to set the right locator
18. sorry, go on file and then export, then audio mixdown It'll come up with a dialogue box where you can browse to a location and type in a filename There are some options regarding format. I'd do CD quality WAVs which is WAV file format, then 16bit and 44Khz in the other boxes. Then just press export and it'll give you a progress box.
19. you have to set the Left and Right locators to the start and end of the song, then run an export. Depending on the mix, length of song, and the spec of the machine, this could take anywhere between 1 and 20 minutes.
20. it'll be the shielding on one of the cables I think. Try bass > comp > amp and keep swapping cables until it goes away. If it doesn't go away, maybe it is a faulty pedal?
21. I'm pretty sure there's an option to save the project to a new folder, just in the file menu. That's on SX3. I think on 5 it has a "backup project" option which is a lot more annoying. when you open the project on the new system it gives you a list of missing plug-ins. Save the list to a text file. It will retain all settings etc so when you install them, they will work again.
22. if someone says "no offers, firm price" in their ad, and then I PM a low offer, I'd understand why they'd be annoyed. More often than not it just says a price, so obviously you'd offer lower than that. If someone asks me for my best offer, why they hell would I actually tell them what it is? If I say to a seller "what's your best price" he's not going to tell me the absolute minimum he will take. Some people just take things personally
23. I see that people like discussion in for sale threads, but also don't want them jumping to the top in less than 36 hours. I don't see how the two are compatible? The bump button is a good idea, but as soon as anyone posts in the thread it will be bumped anyway
